"I just don't have feelings for you, Draven. I just want to be friends, nothing more," her voice was sterner than she intended, but maybe it was for the best.
Draven nodded. "Is it because of Lucien?"
"Lucien has nothing to do with this!"
"Draven, you have to accept the lady's decision and stop blaming Lucien," Soren, who had been observing from a distance, said.
"Stay out of this, Soren. This is between Levina and me," Draven snarled.
"Why are you acting like this? This isn't you, man," Soren said, grabbing Draven by the arm. Draven shook his hand free and walked away.
Levina stared at his receding back, wondering what just happened. She never envisioned things going so badly, but Draven did not make things easier. He had already created the image of Lucien as the villain in his head, so nothing she said mattered or could convince him otherwise. She could only hope that Draven would return to his senses and not lose one of his oldest friends over something so minute.
