Before Ura reached the laboratory, I was with Brittney, showing her my work. What she showed and explained were things that I wanted. "This is a chemical compound, and when released into the air, it disperses quickly and causes no adverse effects in the long term. Over the short term, though, it is a form of gas that passes through life support filters and makes people gag. Not vomit, I have not found how to do that, but this was one of my backup plans. This can be put into a grenade or a grenade launcher to make humans and beast-kin species gag hard temporarily. They will not be able to control their biological tendencies, and they will gag even if they need to pay attention to other things. This gagging action will take over even if their life depends on it stopping." I shuddered as she told me. The thought of gagging when trying to fight would be a serious distraction, and the fact that it went through life support filters meant this would work on armored people.
"Next in my great biowarfare achievements is this little fun toy," She continued, "Chemical 8472, A chemical that grows a fungus in the lungs quickly. This is not lethal but will lightly coat all species that rely on oxygen to breathe, making it a way of absorbing said oxygen. This goes through life support filters and acts as seeds when going in. Now, this will not kill the new host, as it wants to coat them lightly. It will make them cough and slowly fall asleep. As a byproduct of absorbing oxygen, it is a sleep chemical that will then be added into the body's absorbed oxygen to send it through the bloodstream, putting the person to sleep. Without effective treatment, though, the people affected will only be awake for roughly half an hour each day. So, they do need treatment."
Brittney I quickly realized, LOVED, biological warfare and did not give a single fuck about who was on the recieving end. She went on about some impractical ones due to how specific they were. They would only affect a certain species or something of that origin. The problem with this is that making weapons for only one species, unless going to war with that species, was highly impractical.
Then Ura came to the laboratory, and her eyes widened, but then she realized exactly what needed to be done after seeing the state of affairs. She gave us a timeline and then found the right people for the job. A person owed her a favor and was not on the right side of the law. They had people to work on this, and she called in this emergency favor. Or more like a deal saying that she owed him one, which he was all too happy to have her owe him a favor for. It seems that Ura had a more robust network than I thought, and I wondered how she managed it in the first place and how she kept it.
But within half an hour, a cargo container ended up on the base's front door, and a couple of dozen men and women in hazmat suits showed up. It seemed that this friend knew people, too, and they dove headfirst into the laboratory with Brittney Waters being the head of it all. She made them pick up all the inconvenient things she wanted to keep, and the law would not allow us to keep them. A power source was installed in the cargo container, and preservation of samples was the highest priority. After that, there were the problematic incubation chambers and gastroal infusers, she called them. They were all things that were highly regulated, and without the proper paperwork, it would raise eyebrows.
This made me think about something important we would have to deal with.
We needed a base to do more illegal research if we were going to go down this route. Which made me think of Burvine and the mining camps we cleaned out. If we could purchase them and set up an underground base there with the drilling equipment, we would have a place that makes perfect sense to protect and keep people out of, with the added bonus of it being a lawless area that we could move in and out of. We could put up anti-air installations with the surrounding mountains, and with only two choke points, we would effectively control the area to build what we wanted. The best part was that we would not be the only installations. Sure, most of the others were large resource nodes they wanted to mine. Ours would just be an illegal research center.
When all the illegal and regulated things disappeared, we quickly called in the normal looters as we took the cargo up into the tree city. Meanwhile, Ura and I talked about things, "We temporarily do not have the space for these things," Ura said, "We have an emergency shipment that can leave no later than tomorrow, so we will pack this up in a secure warehouse and come back and pick it up. As for the other lab equipment, we can get the other delivery ships that we started to crew to come pick it up. It would make a great training round, and they will be none the wiser about what it will be used for." Ura said slowly, and I nodded.
I quickly went over what I had planned, and she looked at me with pursed lips. "This is insanely expensive already," she said. 'We cannot afford to build another facility at this time," she told me outright.
"That is what the search for resources is for. We can trade them with that peninsula's current owners, take it over that way, and use the sale of resources to reinvest into the ground base there. With the crewing of a dozen ships, we would be bringing in more profit, and we can also use the biological weapons as a new form of sales to the black market as research for our friend to repay the loan." I finished, and Ura looked more thoughtful.
"You want to get into the biological illegal arms, isn't that a bit of a push more into the illegal territory?" Ura said slowly, "It is different from smuggling. This time, we are creating and selling weapons that would do harm to others instead of us just being the delivery people."
I frowned because she was not wrong and pursed my lips, thinking about the situation. After a couple of minutes, I replied, "Ura, there are two things we can do with this. The scientist can make things that are not illegal, and we can use them in bounty hunting, all of which makes the same thing necessary. Or we can go the full illegal route, which means we need to separate ourselves from it and create a lab or something with plausible deniability. Or there is a third route which mixes with the first, we get new biological weapons, women to make things for bounty hunting and the 'extras,'" I said clearly insinuating illegality, "We can sell to partners to pay for our under-the-table dealings. Eventually, we might manufacture our own, but we can cross that road when we get to it. We can then just say that we had no idea what the scientist had been doing. We can even say we gave her a longer rope than we should have if we are discovered. IT was that employee's fault, not ours. Then, to add to the separation, we can separate the lab from another corporation and make it a subsidiary. Then delegate it to another slave that I capture later in order to remove ourselves further."
Ura looked much happier thinking about it like that, and she nodded, "Okay, we will do it that way. We will have the issue of connection in the earlier stages, but once we get the ball rolling, it will be completely separate from us. However, we will have to add security for the scientist. Now, let's get this all sorted and figure out the loot.
With that, we stored the crate for smuggling after our next delivery, while the rest would be put into cargo containers and shipped to the HQ. So the loot would be remarkably little in the form of credits. Almost everything other than scrap was necessary for the new lab we would be setting up. The only extra income would be from the captured target and the ambush site where we captured normal and armored skimmers, which we would not be keeping and selling wholesale as a form of pay to the man who assisted us in discreetly moving our black research suites.
The looters finished packing it up in half a day as we headed back to the ship. I put forth the bounty to the Bounty Hunter office, and several terrorists had bounties, but the real jackpot was the one that Brittney brought to us.
To start the tally, we had to begin with the main bounty.
—
Bounty: Maxx (Unknown last name)
Race: Human
Crimes: Criminal Conspiracy. Fraud, Money Laundering, Gang activity, Wire fraud, Terroristic activities, Funding Terroristic Activities, Terroristic threats, Terrorism, Murder, Attempted murder, Extortion, Mass Murder, Burning City Tree, Damage to a City Tree, Property destruction, Mass Property destruction, Arson.
Federation Bounty: 135000 Federation Credits
Wanted Dead or Alive
Note: Not known to be strong themselves, but leading the tree-cutter terrorist organization on the Green Goddess planet. He currently funds, through unknown means, a Terrorist organization and has been directly linked to the murder of over ten thousand people. Although not dangerous himself, he surrounds himself with dangerous people who are willing to protect him. Proceed with caution.
——
I was stunned by the amount of federation credits that he was worth for a fat idiot who got caught by a scientist. He was also manipulated to continue funding Brittney's activities without getting anything himself. It was just so stupid, and I think there might be more to it than Brittney was letting on. She was definitely a loaded handgun in my hand, and I would have to put an appropriate check on her in place.
Normal Bounties - 43050 federation credits
Normal skimmers - 63000 (Sold at a discount as a favor to Ura's contact and kept one for ourselves)
Armored Skimmers - 80000 federation credits (Sold at a discount as a favor to Ura's contact and kept one for ourselves)
Rifles - 23575 federation credits
Handguns -5600 federation credits
Assault rifles - 23450 federation credits
Scrap armor - 13435 federation credits
Total: 252110 federation credits
This was the total from salvage, as we kept almost everything else. With the Armored and normal skimmer being kept to be shipped back to save on credits later, and Ura's underground contact wanting to have us pay up partially with a nice discount on the skimmers, we made more than I was willing to bet. Unfortunately, the armor was all scrap because it was modified for those people, and many were blasted with fire to kill them. Some were more salvageable, but we were also in a crunch time to leave the planet.
Then there were all the assistants and Brittney to deal with. We had captured them alive and made it known we wanted to keep them. The bounty hunter office did not look happy about that, but they took it in stride. They were officially our slaves, and I put them in a holding place along with our other things to be delivered. Our Slipstream delivery ships were now coming our way from our own company to load everything up and take them back to our headquarters.
This was a much larger bounty than I thought it was going to be at the start. The terrorists were much better funded than we all thought they were, and the lab was exceedingly full of expensive lab equipment. In total, along with the hidden things to be smuggled off planet, the total worth of the things we decided to keep was over twenty million federation credits if purchased at retail. The problem was that most of the things we were keeping were regulated heavily, and we would not even be allowed to purchase them.
Then there was the main bounty quest that started everything off from the bounty board.
—------------
Bounty board Quest: Wipe out the Tree Cutters
Information from a solid and reliable source has reported that the group of Terrorist Tree Cutters on the Green Goddess Planet is planning on doing something big. They have held up in a cave a hundred kilometers to the north of Anarchy City. Due to conflicts between the Federation, Anarchy City, and other groups on the planet's surface, they have put up a bounty to stop the tensions from increasing.
There are no people they wish to capture, so there will be no bonuses for captured criminals.
All people inside the designated Cave are considered criminals and are free to be killed on sight.
The leader of the Tree Cutters is Unknown. You will receive a large bonus if you find information leading to identifying the leader of their group, and an even larger one if you kill them.
Reward: 100,000 Federation Credit, Equipment rewards based on the Number killed.
—-------------------
With the bounties of 100000 for the bounty board quest, 135000 for Maxx Bounty, and making 252110 off the sales of loot, we made just shy of half a million at 487110 federation credits. A massive haul for a bounty, and I was starting to wonder if bounty hunting was more profitable than the deliveries we do when we do the bounties of massive organizations, because on top of this, the Bounty Hunter organization was giving us a selection of three bounty office exclusive technological equipment on top of the massive credit influx.
I offered these equipment slots to Meemee, Nyahdia, and Emma as rewards for their excellent work. Emma especially deserved credit for jumping into the fray during the ambush. So they gave us a list of things we could pick from, including equipment, weapons, and armor, and Nyahdia picked up a new heavy armor. Meemee picked up a control unit that had extra storage and an AI assistant to help her multitask to an even greater degree, and it could be programmed to run in the customized ways that she wanted. Meemee insisted that it was a massive upgrade to her drone combat ability, and I believed her. Emma then chose a new medium armor to assist with her being the backup.
The notes on the game interface made me smile.
—-
Braxx Industries, T77901 - Heavy Weapon and Armor Support Specialist Armor
+50% Increased Carrying capacity
-50% Weapon carrying weight
40% Bullet damage reduction
60% Laser heat dissipation and damage reduction
40% chance to deflect bullets
Reinforced with Braxx Industries' patented heavy armor, this armor increases the support abilities of heavy weapon specialists. It is built to be hit and easily repaired with replacement parts. Its ability to deflect and dissipate lasers and bullets helps ensure the Support can take a hit.

Then there was the AI Equipment.
—-
Aireos Research Facilities, Limited AI 77443 Drone Assistant Equipment
+50% Drone multitasking abilities.
+25% Drone accuracy
+60% Drone capacity
A Drone specialist's Customizable AI assistant controller.
—--
The description was vague, but the percentages looked impressive, and Meemee told me it would help her offload tasks that she struggled to keep up with and that it was an addition to her current control abilities. It was something that the AI would have to learn the parameters of what she wanted over time, but she told me that it had excellent offloading software that would speed up the development of new drone AIs in the future.
Then there was Emma's Medium Armor.
—--
Braxx Industries T00445 Medium fire support specialist armor
+250% Ammo capacity
+40% Carrying capacity
20% chance of Bullet deflection
40% Laser refraction chance
+20% Heat dissipation
Skill - Active Camouflage (An active Camouflage system that works on most systems but is vulnerable to strong detection systems and motion sensors.)
An armor is built to cover fire and provide backup support. Although the camouflage system is active and vulnerable to strong active sensors, it is still a strong camouflage system that will fool mid-tier and lower armor sensors.
—---
The medium armor would allow her to carry more suppressing fire bullets, and with the active camouflage, she would be able to cover us discreetly until needed, unless facing a more advanced foe, which had not become a problem at this point. I was still in the tutorial, but the additions helped until I figured out how the main universe differed from the Main universe.
With all of that decided, I sent half of the bounties I made to pay off the contract, knowing that this was the last payment I would have to make unless I picked up a bounty on a delivery. This brought me to look at my credit account.
—--
Federation Credits 1044979
—---
I had officially made my first million, and when I got to the main universe, I would probably spend it quickly. I could not help but wonder how this would all end as I got closer to the end.
We quickly left the planet with the need to recruit more people for the normal delivery ships and a massive shipment of equipment to bring back to Burvine. After departing Ura came up behind me while I was in the armory and wrapped her arms around me, "When we go back, I want to have some fun with you at a hotel," Ura whispered in my ear and my dick throbbed in thought and i leaned back, grabbed the back of her head and brought her down to me and we kissed.
"Why wait? We can have some fun tonight and then make the hotel visit extra special," I replied with a grin. Ura turned to the door and pressed the button, closing us off from the rest of the crew. She smiled as she stalked toward me, showing off her assets and losing her jumpsuit, making me lick my lips. It was good to enjoy myself a little before logging off after a long day, right?
