"67…68…69..7–"
Yuta sat on top of a vehicle that conveniently wasn't destroyed during his fight against Ryu Ishigori. When he noticed the seven-something foot woman (taller than Gojo by a lot!) adorned in beautiful black armor and shiny silver hair, he couldn't help but stop counting the clouds.
"You must be Yuta Okkotsu. Our master wishes to express apologies for prolonging the fight longer than five minutes," the Valkyrie said while casually and uncaringly tossing Uro against the car Ryu laid against, unconscious.
"It's fine, it's not like I didn't take longer than five minutes myself. But, how is Furō's condition? And where is her arm?"
Yuta hopped off the Japanese sedan and approached Geirdriful.
To his surprise— but not really since this has happened before— Rika's partially manifested head appeared out of a black tear in space, and carefully observed the tall woman.
"Sorry, she only does this with him. Rika, please stop.." Yuta bowed and recalled Rika, who quickly turned and darted behind Yuta's head, as if she suddenly became a bashful, little girl.
"…?"
The Valkyrie stared at Yuta and Rika in confusion, wondering how a boy with such power could emanate such…safety.
Geirdriful did not enjoy his disarming demeanor.
"Anyways," Geirdriful continued. "Furōkawa— he's suffering from mild brain damage from releasing his domain without a barrier. A remarkable feat, but painfully foolish idea. He will live, but he needs rest."
She stopped for a moment to collect her thoughts.
"…More interestingly, there has been only one other individual I've bore witness to achieve that divine feat and innovation in jujutsu," Geirdriful paused slightly before stroking her long her hair and continuing, "Ryomen Sukuna.."
Yuta's eyes widened, feeling a large array of emotions from all this information. Appreciation of his older cousin's strength and talent, determination to get stronger, and lastly deep worry about their impending final act against Sukuna— who has an open barrier domain expansion—and possibly Kenjaku too. If Yuki and Choso do not succeed in their tower defense scenario, it'll be massive trouble to fight to the death against both Kenjaku and Sukuna. If Yuji were to lose control again, the casualties would make an immediate tragedy.
Not only that, but Furōkawa's brain damage does not sound like a injury that will be solved quickly, and frankly, no one else can save him but himself. His mind wandered to the day they spared together and couldn't be healed via a reverse cursed technique.
The young man heaved a deep sigh, starting, "We have a lot of preparation to do. Where is Uro's arm..what's your name? If you have one, that is," Yuta asked.
"Geirdriful, the Spear Flinger."
"Ah, so that's where he got the spears I heard about from."
"…Yes. The arm of that woman is in the food court. First floor… just past the…Chi— Chic-fi—" The Valkyrie grunted in frustration, unfamiliar with the pronunciation of contemporary western cuisine.
"Chic-fil-a?" Yuta finished her struggling sentence.
"Yes, precisely."
"Well Rika, dinner is served. Go ahead."
Rika's head and arm popped out from that black abyss again and formed a salute.
"Aye!" She fluttered through the front doors of the AeonMall, moving like a butterfly but looking like a haunting ghost.
They both watched as she left away. Yuta could sense the unsociable nature of the shikigami, and decided against his least preferred judgement of sparking conversation, despite being endlessly curious about the Valkyries.
Even a little envious he didn't get to tag along.
But Yuta washed those feelings away when he realized that his role in Kenya was equally as important for Jujutsu Tech and his own growth.
After more idle standing and awkward silence, the pink haired woman eyes shot open. Uro's dazed expression instantly revealed the thought rushing through her mind:
'I'm not dead?'
She quickly rose, but stumbled off balance after realizing her reach has been indefinitely shortened.
"Tch… you would leave me handicapped instead of killing me in this chaotic barrier. Perhaps you modern sorcerers a lot more cruel than I initially expected."
Her mind then darted to an easily distracted moment, right before releasing her domain expansion, Kogane announced a new rule to transfer points between players.
"Well, the most powerful players in this colony are no longer alive or right here in front of me."
"So, that's your play. I guess I have no choice now.. Kogane, transfer all of my points to him."
"Okay!" It affirmed in its typical cartoonish fashion. "70 points have been transferred to Yuta Okkotsu! You now have 110 points!"
Yuta let out a sigh of relief as his massive burdens have let up ever so slightly. Now, all he needed was 300 more points to add the rest of the rules, but secretly hoped Hakari and Panda could procure those points in Colony No.2.
"Thank you, Uro."
There was a brief silence shared between the two, before Uro walked a few paces away and turned to the group.
"In this game, mercy will get you murdered in cold blood. Unlike Furōkawa, you care too much. You're reaching your limit, Okkotsu."
Yuta listened intently, his expression unchanging.
"I've seen it."
What surpasses the horizons of sorcerers, spirits, and strong fighters…
Overwhelming aggression..
That disregards all else..
Like a calamity."
Yuta continued his silence, pulling his gaze away from Uro and landing on the unconcious Furōkawa.
Uro scoffed and walked down the street, vanishing into a dark alleyway, not to be seen again.
"I do not like that woman," Geirdriful commented.
"She comes from a different time, that's all."
"Uro Takako is from the same era as I— the Heian Era— the "Golden Age" of sorcery. I remember her role as the captain of the Sun, Moon, and Stars assassination squad for the nobles of the Fujiwara clan."
"They must have done horrible things to her to hold this grudge for one-thousand years. I couldn't get too much information before she choked me across Sendai," Yuta smirked.
"I would not know. I did not immerse myself in geo-political matters— only mortal combat. Her squad, although powerful, were extremely covert in their operations. Truly a dangerous force."
"But, they were wiped out. As if they never existed in the first place. I believe the Fujiwara attempted to finally end Ryomen Sukuna's reign of power, but they failed miserably, obviously. Takako Uro is the only person who made it out of that battle alive."
"Sheesh…"
Ryu Ishigori slowly opened his eyes, squinting at the brightness of the sun. He turned his head and saw Yuta and Geirdriful standing ahead of him. To his side, Furōkawa laid with eyes closed, quietly resting.
"Heh, you're way too soft, Okkotsu."
Yuta turned with curiosity, his attention now focused on Ryu.
"Uro said the same thing. That mercy will get me killed."
"She's still alive? What a tough nut she is... my blasts must've been weaker after domain expansion."
"Besides that, she kept on bringing things up from the past. You two in some sort of lover's quarrel?"
"I guess you can say that," Yuta responded.
"Hmph, you sound disappointed."
Yuta looked at the birds in the sky, chirping without a care in the world.
"There's nothing I could say to her that wouldn't lead to violence."
"Because I'm blessed."
'I don't get it… at all.' Ryu thought to himself, but kept his attention on Yuta.
"Anyways,"
Yuta turned around fully and approached Ryu with a smile.
"Give me your points."
"Huh?"
Kogane appeared before the pair and announced the most recent added rule:
"RULE TEN, ALLOWS THE TRANSFER OF POINTS OF THE PLAYERS CHOOSING TO OTHER PLAYERS!"
"Huh, I get it now. If not for this rule, you two would've killed us?" Ryu softened his face and smirked at the idea that these people held back in order to get points.
"You think so?" Yuta asked with a disarming laugh.
'They are dangerous.' Ryu thought to himself.
After the subsequent conversation, Ryu handed over the points Yuta demanded, putting Yuta at 187 points!
