TWIN SIBLINGS KIYOMARO and Kino Kurosaki walk out of their home and right into the realm of the divine, Shangri-La. It's there that they meet Odin, Jupiter, and Zeus. Also known as The Council of Gods.
They inform the twins that Earth is gone and they don't know why. Their family and friends have been reincarnated. Different Gods and Goddesses who know the fates of mankind asked The Council of Gods to save Kiyomaro and Kino.
After accepting everything they've been told the twins agree to go to a new world. They're given the know-how to read, write and understand that world's language.
Athena shows up and gives them the knowledge they ask for. Next comes Hephaestus. He gave Kino the Sandals of Hermès; now renamed the Shoes of Hermès. Kiyomaro received the Twin Blades; Onyx (Katana) and Snow (Wakizashi)
Once they have everything, Janus sends them off.
"My name is Kurosaki Kiyomaro. My family and friends call me Kiyo. I'm sixteen years old, one point seventy meters tall. I have black hair and brown eyes.
I have a twin sister named Kino. We're close but not so close that people think I have a sister complex.
"My grandfather started training me in Kendo at age three. For thirteen years I honed my skills. Training every morning before school and every evening after school in my family's dojo. In hopes of one day being the first in my family to make it to the level of tenth Don.
I'm the youngest vice captain in my Kendo Club even though I'm only in my second year of high school."
"My name is Kurosaki Kino. I'm sixteen years old. One point fifty-seven meters tall with shoulder length black hair, and brown eyes. I have a twin brother named Kiyomaro. We're close but I don't have a brother complex or anything like that.
"From the time I could crawl I was always on the go. Exploring everywhere I went. It's probably why I have a great love for traveling. Because of this my father had me trained in armed and unarmed combat to keep me safe.
"I learned Judo first then over time I started learning Muay Thai and Tae Kwon Do, and a few other things. I also love running so I joined the Track and Field Club at school. I'm currently in my second year of high school.
"So here we are in a new world. The sky is clear, the sun is shining, and judging by the temperature it's summertime. What a great way to start living in a new world.
"Well it would be if we weren't surrounded by people in hooded robes, except for two of them. There're five in red robes and two in green robes pointing weapons at us ready to attack. Another is wearing orange and holding a book. The last two aren't dressed like the rest. One wears red leather armor, the other wears blue leather armor.
"Hey sis, quick question."
"What's that Kiyo?"
"Do you remember your training?"
"I do. How about you? Do you remember your training?"
"I do. So it seems like we've kept our memories after all."
"Seems that way."
"Who are you two?" Asks the one in red leather armor.
"My name is Kiyomaro Kurosaki, and this is Kino Kurosaki, my sister. Huh that's weird. Why did I introduce us that way?"
"Probably happened when we arrived here. After all that's how Odin addressed us." Kino answers with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Who sent you?" Asks the other one in leather armor.
"We were sent here by the Council of Gods." Kino replies.
"You're a damn liar!"
"Why would I lie?"
"The Council of Gods sent you. That's a lie. For there is only one God of this world, and that is The One True God."
"I see, so that's the religious belief of this world. Tell me, does the rest of the world follow this belief?" Asks Kiyomaro.
"They will for that is our sworn duty as True Believers."
"Are you all True Believers?" Kino asked.
"That's right. We are all True Believers. We follow the teachings of The One True God. Those that don't follow his teachings will be killed."
"So will you two join us, or do we kill you right here right now?" This question comes from the one in orange.
"Join you or die. Hmm what to do, what to do. Hey Kino, try not…."
Kiyomaro couldn't finish his sentence. His sister is already in motion. She front kicks the one wearing the blue armor. Sending the man flying backwards.
Kino had kicked him with such force his chest caved-in. The man's injuries are as follows: a sternal fracture, multiple broken ribs, and internal damage to his heart, lungs, and major blood vessels. The man doesn't get up and his comrades don't help him either.
"Did you say something Kiyo?"
"I was gonna say not to go overboard, but never mind. Just don't kill them if you can help it."
"I'll have to train a bit with these shoes. I thought I was holding back oh well. Who's next?"
"Kill them both!" Orders the orange robed one.
"Iaijutsu!" Kiyomaro cuts down the one in orange before anyone can react.
Sword Skill "Iaijutsu." A combative sword-drawing art but not necessarily an aggressive art because iaijutsu is also a counterattack-oriented art.
The Iaijutsu technique may be used aggressively to wage a premeditated surprise attack against an unsuspecting enemy.
This skill is only utilized by Kiyomaro. Other swordsmen use what's known as One Sword Technique or Two Sword Technique.
"What was that about 'not killing them'?" Teased Kino.
A few minutes later the remaining True Believers are lying on the ground unconscious. Hopefully.
"Well now what?" Kino asks.
"Hang on. I want to try something, 'Inventory' Well look at that I have an 'Inventory Display' and this black hole looking thing must be how we store/retrieve items."
"Inventory. Wow this shows what I have with me right now. My Shoes of Hermès, and Unknown Garments are equipped. This is so cool."
"We should find a change of clothes so we don't stand out so much." Suggests Kiyomaro.
"Let's take their robes."
"Let's not start stealing Kino."
"Yeah fair point."
"Excuse me over here. Can you help us out?"
"Holy crap what are you?!" Asks Kino, a bit surprised.
"I'm Leo, a demi-human. All of us in this cage are."
The twins keep staring at this massive creature that is talking to them. While the smaller demi-humans in the cage are staring back at the twins. Kino is the first to speak.
"Didn't you hear us talking with those robed idiots?"
"No. The one in orange used the magical skills Silence and Concealment on this caged wagon. We could only watch you, nothing else."
Magic Skill "Silence." Sound cannot enter, leave, or be made inside a set area. The size of the set area depends on the caster's skill level.
Magic Skill "Concealment." Allows a caster to render people, objects, or entire physical locations completely invisible or undetectable by others. This is based on one's skill level.
"So this world has demi-humans, and magic." Kiyomaro asked.
"Yes it does. There's also beast-kin and demons, but how do you not know this?"
"We came from another world. A world with no magic, demi-humans, beast-kin, or demons, only humans."
"Only humans. So you're like the True Believers then?"
"How so? Kino asks."
"True Believers follow the teachings of The One True God. That teaching tells them that anything not fully human is evil, and needs to be killed. Any humans that don't side with them are considered traitors to their kind and are to be killed on sight."
The twins exchange a knowing glance. Both of them are thinking the same thing. 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑁𝑎𝑧𝑖𝑠 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑.
"Look Leo, that's not what we believe in. My sister and I are nothing like them."
"That's good to hear. So any chance you can get us out of here? The keys should be with the one in red leather armor."
"Here they are." Kino proclaims holding them up.
"Thanks, it was really cramped in there. Now where is my gear?"
Now fully upright Leo stands at one point eighty-two meters He's bald with black eyes. And is only wearing a pair of white canvas pants.
"Ah ha! There's my stuff." After several minutes have passed, Leo is now fully dressed in an open front cobalt blue long vest tunic, his white canvas pants of course, and black boots. He's now armed with a flanged mace and bronze shield both are in need of repair.
While Leo was getting dressed the other demi-humans had taken off.
"I gotta say it was impressive watching you guys. What rank are you?"
"Rank? I don't know my rank."
"I don't know mine either."
"Just say Status." Instructs Leo.
""Status!"" The twins say in unison.
"You should now see your own personal status display. In the top right will be your rank."
"I'm SS-ranked." Reports Kiyomaro.
"I'm SS-ranked too."
"No way?! That's the top rank. The pinnacle everyone strives to reach in their respective class. What class are you two anyways? Look, left of your rank."
"It's blank." Kino tells him.
"So is mine. It's only displaying my name, rank, equipped gear, and that's it. I see a skill list section, but that's also blank." Kiyomaro reports.
"That's not possible," said Leo, "everyone should have at least their basic skill set listed. What skills did you use to fight with?"
"The skills we used are what we learned back in our world." Replied Kino. "That's probably why everything is different for us here in this world."
"You could be right about that. After all, you guys did appear out of nowhere."
"You didn't see a door appear first did you?" Kiyomaro asks Leo.
"Nope, just you two suddenly standing there."
"So now what?" Asks Kino.
"Let's head to the adventure's guild over in Snapdragon Village. It's not that far from here. Hopefully they can help you guys."
"Alright, but first how about proper introductions. My name is Kiyomaro Kurosaki, or Kiyo for short."
"I'm Kino Kurosaki."
"Leo Blackbriar, it's nice to meet you, and thank you for setting us free. So you two are siblings?"
"Yes, fraternal twins actually." Kino happily answers.
"Well alright then let's get going shall we."
"So judging by your appearance you're a black rhino."
"You are correct Kino."
"What's the difference between demi-humans and beast-kin?"
"Well demi-humans like myself look more like animals with similarities to humans. I have a horn and a tail. A tough, thick hide.
"Whereas beast-kin look more human with similarities to animals. Like cat ears and tails, or a full set of wings in place of arms and hands.
We all walk up right, have hands and feet. We can speak, read, and write, and so forth."
Kiyo then asks, "what about demons?"
"Demons vary so much they have their own category when it comes to appearance. Same goes for other species."
"I see. Are there any Demi-human lions?"
"Yes Kino there are. Why are you scared of lions?"
"No. Back in our world, Leo means lion, and you're a rhino. It's just funny to me."
"I was named after the former leader of the lions. His name was Leo Pridehart. My father, Tank Blackbriar and Leo banded together to stop the True Believers during an invasion into both our territories. They won, but at the cost of their lives."
"Do both lion and rhino demi-humans co-exist side by side now?" Asks Kiyo.
"We do, but we also clash on some things. That's just how it goes."
"Hey Leo, what's your rank and class?"
"I'm D-ranked in the Tanker Class."
"Is that the lowest in the rankings?"
"Yes, it is Kiyo. Once you reach D-rank in your respective class you can take on quests that are based on your rank."
"What's the Tanker Class about?" Kino asked.
"The Tanker Class is for those who have higher defensive skills than the other classes."
"How many classes are there?"
"Seven in all."
"What are the other six classes?" Inquired Kiyo.
"Warrior, Assassin, Healer, Hunter, Mage, and Summoner."
"Who classified you as a Tanker?"
"That's one of the many jobs the guilds oversee."
"I wonder what my class will be? I can hardly wait." Kino remarks.
"You'll find out in a bit we're almost there."
