Alex comes home from a tired day at work and greets his pregnant wife. He takes a seat on the sofa to get a breather from the worldly stuff. He is a 29 year old who works as the Computer Forensic Analyst of the city police station.
His wife sits beside him on the sofa and says "Alex, If you're done with your rest. We have to go to my parents for dinner. Or did you forget?" She looks at him with suspicion.
He had forgotten the promise.
He brushes it off by laughing and repeatedly saying, "I remember. I remember."
She knew he was lying but didn't say anything.
He gets up to leave while sighing and when his wife comes into the view, he fakes a smile.
They both go down their building and get the car out of parking and prepare to leave. Her parents live outside of the city.
Him and his wife are conversing in some talks about many topics like the baby's future and some talk about work and some repairs needed to be done in the house. She tells him to behave properly at her parents house. Also reminding him of his past bad behaviour which she had to apologise for. He nods in agreement and tries to change the topic.
Mid-conversation, He looks to his left and sees a big truck heading towards his car. He tries to speed his car to avoid the truck but the truck hits the back door of the car very hard, throwing the car off the road. The car flips a couple of times. The car lands off the road. He is bleeding too heavily. He sees his wife, passed out and smoke coming out of the car's engine. His seatbelt is stuck. He takes out a swiss army knife from the glove compartment to cut his own seatbelt. He then proceeds to cut her seatbelt. He caught a glimpse of himself in the rearview mirror and saw a bloody face of his. He focuses on her. He couldn't get the door open on his side. He opens the door next to her. Then he gets out from the door and picks her up and starts running.
Alex runs as far from the car while vomiting blood. He sets his wife on the land. He coughs up more blood on his hands. His hands shiver. He looks at her for the last time. She had passed out and miraculously, she didn't look that bad of a condition with being 4 months pregnant. He smiles. He looks up in the sky to the stars. He sees the darkness of the sky filling up his body.
