Chapter 222 - Chapter 220

While these nobles are trying to come up with a good scheme to drag Bael into this mess, the person in question is now questioning his life choices.

When Rizeviem and Euclid came to seek refuge in the underworld, Bael, as the hidden ruler of the underworld, was also notified by them. After all this time, Rizevim and Euclid are here to find a safe place to heal their injuries and also recruit more soldiers for their army. Yhwach's last strike had dealt a very huge blow to them, making the two big bosses almost bankrupt.

So, they naturally came to meet their old business partner, Lord Bael, hoping to use their old ties and common interests to get a fresh start. Yes, that's right, unlike what the public thinks, the relationship between Bael and Rizeviem was very good. In fact, as a bloodline of Lord Lucifer and one of the strongest devils, Lord Bael held great respect for Rizeviem.

But respect-wise, right now, Lord Beal was wondering whether he should really cut his connection here. Although Beal had always wanted to rule the underworld, that doesn't mean he was unaware of the cruel reality. In this underworld, he is only ranked as a great king, and this rank is in no way enough to sit on that throne.

So he had always known his rule would be challenged. So this is why he always kept a close eye on those higher-ranking bloodlines. In his opinion, the person who had the highest probability was someone from Rizeviem's bloodline after all, as the son of Lord Lucifer Rizeviem has the power and capability.

But he never expected that there was someone else who bypassed his detection and became the Lord of the underworld. For a moment, Bael even felt like he had been slapped in the face by that person.

Unfortunately, despite his anger, all he could do was sulk privately. After all, even though he could fight, he knew that would be the most foolish decision at a time like that. Especially when he heard about how all four satans and the rest of the devil council were conquered by this new king in just a few minutes.

He knew perfectly how stubborn those council members were. Even for him, these guys are a real headache. Although he could control them, he couldn't make them obey his every command this easily.

Well, on the bright side, at least this new king would not bring the devil race into ruin. After all, for Sirzechs and Ajuka to actually obey someone, that person can't be a maniac like Rizeviem.

Unfortunately, at this moment, Lord Beal had no idea the new king who took office was a person far crazier than Rizeviem. Especially for him who had once provoked this demoness because of his own pride.

And what's more unfortunate is that due to Roxanne's magic still hiding her name, Lord Bael would not be able to know this important news until it was too late.

"So, what do you think, Bael?" Rizevim asked, leaning forward with that familiar, annoying grin on his face. His silver hair looked messy, and his clothes were a bit dusty—clear signs that he hadn't fully recovered from Yhwach's devastating strike. "We just need a quiet place to lay low and a few thousand fresh troops. Once we get back on our feet, we will be on our way, and along the way, I will also take care of all those guys you need to disappear. I'm sure you must have a very long list for me."

Hearing this, Bael, who was a bit absentminded, suddenly woke up to reality. And hearing this annoying remark, although Bael had his poker face, he was inwardly groaning. Although he had used Rizeviem more than once to deal with any annoying devils, he wasn't this much of a sucker.

Especially not right now. Back then, hiding a few missing devils under the rug was easy because the Four Satans were soft and the council could be bribed. But now? The entire Underworld had just been turned upside down in a matter of minutes by a mysterious new ruler.

Bael looked at Rizevim, whose face was still full of that same old arrogant confidence. In the past, Bael would have happily handed over a list of political rivals for Rizevim to eliminate. It was a perfect arrangement—Bael kept his hands clean, and Rizevim got to cause chaos.

But things were completely different now.

"I don't have any list for you, Rizevim," Bael said, his voice flat and completely devoid of its usual warmth. He leaned back in his leather chair, crossing his arms. "And if I were you, I would stop talking about making people disappear. The new king just took the throne today. And this king had just also conquered the devil council and the four satans. "

Rizevim blinked, and his smile stiffened for a moment, clearly not expecting such a cold response. He let out a loud, mocking laugh and waved his hand dismissively. "Oh, come on, Bael! Since when did the great head of the Bael clan become such a coward? Who cares about some random upstart who just took the throne? They probably just used some cheap trick to scare Sirzechs and those old geezers on the council. Heck, I bet this upstart might even be a pawn that is sent against God by those idiot council."

Hearing this, Bael didn't even know whether to laugh or cry. He looked at Rizevim like he was looking at a dead man walking.

"A pawn? Sent by the council?" Bael muttered, his voice dropping into a dangerous whisper. "Rizevim, you really have been out of touch with the Underworld for too long. If that woman were a pawn of the council, those old geezers wouldn't be locked in their rooms right now, crying and shaking while studying her divine art like fanatical cultists."

He leaned forward, slamming his heavy fists onto the desk, making the luxury crystal ornaments rattle.

"Open your eyes! Those four didn't just step down because they were scared. They were utterly crushed. And that 'cheap trick' you're talking about is a bloodline enhancement art that is literally vibrating inside my own head right now! It's a technique that can violently awaken dormant powers. If she can casually hand out a miracle like that to millions of devils just to announce her arrival, do you really think she's anyone's pawn?!"

"Hmm, bloodline art," Rizevim muttered, his voice filled with genuine surprise and confusion. He stared intently at Bael, looking for any signs of a lie, but the Great King's face was dead serious. Rizevim then glanced back at Euclid, who only shook his head in confusion.

Rizevim thought about it for a moment, his annoying grin completely vanishing. "Hey, Bael, what kind of bloodline enhancement art are you talking about?"

"Huh? Can't you feel the art that is coming from your bloodline?" Bael asked, his eyes widening in surprise.

Rizevim didn't answer. He immediately closed his eyes and began searching deep within his own power for any hidden knowledge or magic arts. But no matter how much he tried, he couldn't find anything at all. In fact, it was the exact opposite—he could feel a massive, suffocating wave of rejection coming from his very own bloodline.

At first, Rizevim didn't care too much about this. He just assumed it was some annoying aftereffect of taking that devastating blow from Yhwach. But looking at Bael's shocked expression, it seemed something much deeper and more terrifying had happened.

Rizevim snapped his eyes open, turned to his partner, and asked, "Euclid, do you have this art?"

Euclid had a completely grim expression on his face as he shook his head in denial. He had also searched his own body, but he didn't find any bloodline art at all.

And this made Rizeviem's face turn even more grim. He turned to look at Bael and asked….
