Evan Fairchild got home before Melody Monroe.
As soon as Ian Monroe saw the car, he rushed out excitedly.
"Mommy!"
After Evan Fairchild parked the car, he saw Ian Monroe looking crestfallen.
"Didn't Mommy come back with you?"
"She'll be here in a little while."
"Then I'll just wait here." Ian Monroe sat on the steps, cupping his little face in his hands as he continued to wait for his mom.
Bunny lay at his feet, perfectly still.
Evan Fairchild walked over and sat beside his son. "The press conference is tomorrow. You'll have to face so many people. Are you scared?"
"Why would I be scared?"
"Aren't you nervous?"
"Nervous... no, that's not right. I'm actually a little excited."
"Excited about what?"
"Auntie Rose said that my existence is like a ticking time bomb for Mom. I used to be really scared of people finding out that Melody Monroe is my mother. But I'm not scared anymore."
"I don't see you being scared. In fact, you seem a little smug."
"Dad, thank you."
