"Don't you tell me what to do!" Mrs. Hughes shot back. "Who do you think I'm doing this for? I'm doing it for you!"
Christopher Sterling was about to step in and help Rose Shaw when another figure beat him to it.
Keith Coleman suddenly walked over and stood in front of Mrs. Hughes.
"You have a heart condition? Funny. I'm sick, too!"
Mrs. Hughes froze. Seeing Keith Coleman's appearance, she instinctively took a step back.
"Who are you?"
"Rose's ex-boyfriend."
"You? You're Rose Shaw's ex-boyfriend? What are you doing here?"
"Can't get over her!" Keith shot back with a smile. "Just had to see for myself if my Rose had gone blind or lost her mind, picking a man like that to marry."
"You don't want to live anymore, right? Great, me neither. So what'll it be? Jumping off the roof? Running into a wall? We can do it together. Ladies first. I'll be right behind you!"
