'In her heart, there was Ian, and there was that pig... but was there any room for him?'
"Mr. Fairchild..." Melody called out.
Her voice pulled Evan Fairchild from his thoughts. Seeing her hesitate, as if she wanted to say something but couldn't, he felt a flicker of anticipation. He wondered what she was going to say.
His gaze swept over her.
When he saw she was only in a bathrobe, a flicker of amusement danced in his eyes. 'She actually came over in a bathrobe.'
Melody took a deep breath and quickly asked, "Mr. Fairchild, when are you leaving Somberfell City?"
Evan Fairchild's expression froze, his brow slowly furrowing. Then, without a word, he turned and walked away.
"Mr. Fair—" Melody reached out, about to call him back, but he had already disappeared around the corner.
'He's angry?'
Melody was at a complete loss, wanting to cry but having no tears to shed.
