Ian Monroe sat pouting on the sofa.
A flicker of a smile flashed across Evan Fairchild's eyes.
"What are you so happy about? Mom agreed because she thinks you're taking me. If you hadn't used me as an excuse, just try and see if Mom would go to the movies with you."
Evan Fairchild was at a loss for words.
"Ian Monroe, you should know that sometimes the process doesn't matter. All that matters is getting the result you want."

The two exchanged another glance, then both turned their heads away, as if unwilling to spare the other another look.
Melody Monroe rummaged through her closet several times.
'What should I wear to the movies?'
She hadn't sold all of the previous owner's clothes, but they weren't suitable for daily wear. Most were meant for banquets and other formal occasions.
