Ian looked at the photos, his little cheeks flushed with shyness.
It was the first time he had ever taken a picture with his mom.
Melody couldn't help but snap a few more before putting her phone away.
Soon, the meal was ready. Melody set the dishes on the table, then took Ian by the hand to change his clothes. The little guy's sleeves were all wet.
Ian picked out a change of clothes, and Melody sat on his small bed, helping him get dressed.
Just as his little head popped out of his shirt, he suddenly asked Melody, "Mom, do I have a dad?"
Melody froze.
'She hadn't even thought about how to handle this question yet. And today, it had suddenly come up.'
'How should I answer?'
Seeing Melody's hesitation, Ian quickly said, "Mom, I asked around. All the other kids have dads, but every kid is born from a mommy. So, what are dads good for?"
'This question was even harder to answer than the last one.'
