"Lord Minato, welcome!", the man, Lord Miratil, shouted immediately, kneeling on the tatami.
After finishing, he brought his students to the place. Both Minato, Obito, as well as Rin and Kakashi raised an eyebrow upon seeing the man who, until then, had been arrogant and rude, simply on the floor, crying at Minato's feet.
"What is this?", Minato asked, still holding the man's daughter in his arms, unconscious.
The door opened, and other men approached.
"Lord Miratil...?!" they murmured before looking at Minato. Miratil saw them entering and looked at them with a face full of anger.
"What are you doing standing there?! Quickly, kneel before Lord Namikaze for the offenses from before!!", he shouted, and soon all the guards were also kneeling, asking for forgiveness.
"Why are you acting like this now...?", Minato grew irritated.
Someone else entered the room. It was Lord Miratil's own son, who had fainted during the first encounter, Harry.
"You brought my sister... Please, on behalf of the Miratil family, we apologize for the offenses from before. We had no idea who you were. My father got too excited, as he had only seen a team and not who the ninja that Konoha sent was. He thought you would be incapable, but after I woke up, I told him your identity. We immediately understood that we spoke more than necessary. We are willing to pay any compensation for the offenses and also for the mission. Your reputation precedes you. You brought my sister back even before the deadline...", he said.
Minato's students only watched, curious, at the whole situation. They did not expect things to unfold like this.
"Wow... am I the only one who keeps getting surprised by the teacher at every moment?", Obito murmured carefully to Rin.
It was not enough to have seen their teacher, calm and smiling, turn into a killing machine from one moment to the next.
Even people, upon recognizing him, immediately changed their attitudes. It didn't matter how rich your status was, it didn't matter how much money you had — standing before a man who could destroy an entire country was something capable of shaking anyone's psyche.
Minato observed for a moment before sighing.
"Get up. You don't need to act like this. I'll just warn you that what I said before still stands. Your mission was level A, not level B. There were three jōnin among the group of 20, and most of them were chūnin", Minato replied.
"Yes, we will pay as requested, Lord Minato. The Miratil family does not want to become an enemy of Konoha. We do not wish to offend you."
"Good. Then let's settle things. But first, take your daughter to a room. She is fine, but unconscious. The men sedated her, but no harm was done."
"Yes...", the lord spoke quickly, asking a servant to take her carefully. "Thank you very much for bringing my daughter back", he said.
"Now, let me inform you of one thing: the Daimyō is also aware of your presence. He seeks a meeting with Lord Namikaze", Lord Miratil added.
Minato couldn't help but sigh. The feudal lord of the Land of Bears himself wanted to speak with him. Well, that should be normal. His deeds did not stop at borders, and Minato was someone so important that even the wealthiest lords of the countries would not miss the opportunity to meet him in person.
"Alright. Take this. It's the mission execution order. I believe that signature belongs to your business competitor, doesn't it?"
The man stood up and quickly read the document, before widening his eyes. "Yes... this is proof that you can show to the Daimyō and seek justice", he said, almost starting to cry again.
Minato nodded. "Well, I need to take care of a few things first. I'll be back soon", he said, as he returned to the three children. "Let's go."
As soon as he said that, he disappeared with his students.
In the next instant, he reappeared back in the cave, where there were still clones cleaning everything.
"Alright, you'll stay here to handle the rest", Minato said to his clone, who nodded.
"What's going on, sensei?", Kakashi asked. His sensei had changed his attitude very quickly.
"We are going on another mission. A mission even more important than this one."
"A mission more important than an A-rank mission?", Rin asked, shocked.
"Yes. We are entering an SS-rank mission. To be honest, it is extremely vital that you obey all instructions from now on."
The three children immediately stiffened.
"What the hell is an SS-rank mission...?", even Kakashi had never heard of something like that.
"We'll talk about that in a moment, now let's go. We need to find someone."
Minato left the clone to handle collecting the bodies of the rogue ninjas, exchanging them for money, finishing gathering everything, and remaining in the Land of Bears to obtain the signature and the reward for the completed mission, in addition to dealing with the meeting with the Daimyō.
Minato wouldn't waste time with that, but that didn't mean he couldn't leave a clone. The Daimyō wouldn't notice the difference and wouldn't feel offended. It was better than refusing; after all, it's always good to maintain good relationships.
It was late afternoon when they teleported to the Land of Mountains, appearing directly in the capital.
"This place again, sensei?", Obito asked, curious, but also a bit amazed. After all, they had just crossed an entire country in an instant.
"Incredible... sensei can simply travel the world however he wants", Rin murmured as she realized it.
"Of course", Minato opened a smile at them. "Did you know your sensei can also go to the Moon? It's a good place for romantic dates. I had to take each of my wives there", Minato said, as he moved forward.
"Wait... the Moon?!", the three exclaimed, stunned.
But Minato didn't respond and continued forward, until he found a bathhouse. There, there was a man wearing those large Japanese hats, crouched near a hole, writing something in a notebook.
"Who is that?", Obito asked.
"A pervert, for sure", Kakashi said.
"How disgusting...", Rin commented, with disgust.
Minato sighed and approached. Even he himself sometimes felt a certain embarrassment because of that man.
As soon as he noticed their presence, the man looked back, surprised. He seemed like an ordinary man, but upon seeing them, his eyes widened.
"Ah, Mi-Minato! You finally arrived! I was expecting this tomorrow...", he said, before bursting into smoke, revealing that it was just a transformation.
A white-haired man appeared in his place, with a scroll attached to his back and wearing his characteristic clothes.
"Sensei... it's good to see you again. But why do you always have to do these disgusting researches?", Minato murmured.
The children watched curiously, especially upon hearing Minato call that man "sensei" as well.
"Well, I...", Jiraiya became a bit embarrassed by the accusation from his favorite student.
"Let's get out of here, we need to talk before the sun fully sets and we depart", Minato said.
They headed into the forest, moving away from prying ears.
Jiraiya was handling espionage on the western side of the great nations, between the Land of Wind and the Land of Stone.
"The Kazekage's group entered the Land of Stone with authorization. I followed them up to a certain point", he explained.
"Well, that seemed quite obvious, since now they have become allies again", Minato replied.
"Then let's get going. If you came here before tomorrow, it means something happened", Jiraiya said. After all, the meeting was scheduled for the next day, and he did not expect his student to seek him out earlier.
"Yes. A clone I kept with my wife passed on some information. The meeting is about to happen."
"Sensei... you mentioned that earlier. What is this meeting?", Kakashi asked again, curious, behind Minato, still a bit dazed — and even somewhat frightened — by the rank of the mission they were carrying out.
"Your students seem to be doing very well...", Jiraiya commented, observing them more closely for the first time since he saw Minato.
He did not fail to praise them, although, deep down, he did not feel that any of them came close to what Minato already was at their age. He could perceive this even through their chakra.
Minato was a monster full of chakra, abilities, and jutsus — He was someone capable of facing him head-on by releasing three elements, creating an S-rank elemental wave, as he had done in the bell test back then. Jiraiya had responded to him with fire, oil, and water, against Minato's lightning, fire, and wind that time.
'Well, it's not like I can demand that there be someone comparable every time a new generation appears...', Jiraiya thought.
Even so, even Minato's wives, despite being somewhat extraordinary, were not that powerful at that time. Jiraiya knew that Minato had been responsible for the evolution of each one of them, being a great driving force for them to become so strong.
So, even seeing those children, who were not yet that powerful, Jiraiya knew that Minato had a plan to make them grow. He did not believe his student would fail to form a group that would shock the world in the coming years.
That was why he would never stop paying attention to those children.
"Ah, they are...", Minato replied with a smile, looking at his students. They were his protégés, and Minato himself couldn't help but feel a certain affection for all of them, they were very close to being like children to him now...
Anyway, his smile disappeared, giving way to a serious expression.
"The mission we are going on now is extremely dangerous. It is a secret meeting between all four Kage... and something more. They are gathering to discuss how to deal with the greatest threat in the world to them: Konoha."
"Wait... you're saying there's a meeting between the Kage? Like... the Tsuchikage, the Kazekage, the Raikage, and the Mizukage?", Obito exclaimed, shocked. Just like the other two.
"Exactly. Our mission is to spy on them and see what they think, how they intend to deal with Konoha. Since the balance of the world changed the moment all the great elemental nations lost a large part of their military power in the battle of Sunagakure, with the addition of the Uzumaki clan, and our return with all my wives at their peak. After what we did in that battle, Konoha is far above the other countries."
"And now they intend to discuss how they will deal with us, because every war they were planning to try to plunder or threaten Konoha has fallen apart."
Minato looked at his students, anticipating their reaction. They seemed quite disturbed.
"You're saying that...", Rin began, carefully, but couldn't finish.
"We will be going to a meeting that will decide the future of the ninja world. Because there, the nations will decide whether they will create a Third Ninja War against Konoha or not", Minato said.
"Third Ninja War...", those words echoed in the minds of the three children.
"Sensei... I think we would be nothing more than a burden in a mission of this level", Kakashi admitted.
No matter how confident he was, he knew how insignificant he was in the face of that. He could be arrogant enough to take on C-rank or even B-rank missions, but this was completely different.
An SS-rank mission, with all the Kage present, in addition to the elite ninjas of each country, who protected their leaders...
Kakashi could be arrogant, but even he recognized how powerless he was there.
After all, a ninja must always analyze the situation in an honest and serious way.
"Don't worry", Minato smiled. "It's not like I will send you directly. You will only stay on the outer part, you will take care of things there while being protected with some clones and even Jiraiya-sensei will stay with you..." He paused...
"The ones who will actually infiltrate the meeting will be me and my wife. And we won't even be inside the location, to be honest. We will observe everything from a safe distance, even though we will still be within enemy territory", Minato said.
Then, he turned his attention back to his sensei.
"Alright, let's go."
He said this while touching Jiraiya's shoulder, who in turn was connected to Obito, who was touching Rin's shoulder, who consequently was connected to Kakashi's shoulder.
With all of them connected, Minato teleported them directly to the Land of Iron.
That SS-rank mission would be different from anything they had ever done.
Even Minato had never, officially, carried out a mission of that caliber. Not officially...
