Upon entering the Land of Bears, they stopped directly in a clearing to organize themselves upon reaching their objective.
"Well, now we don't need to hide anymore. You can put on your headbands. We have authorization to enter the country representing Konoha...", Minato explained as they prepared themselves and began advancing again.
Minato explained that they would still have to reach the capital, which would take another one or two days.
They had advanced during the night, since Minato forced them to do so in order to train. In times of war, they would advance even in the middle of the darkness, against several enemies lurking for them or traps made by the enemies themselves...
He continued training those children for every possible scenario, especially those that involve war.
Since they hadn't slept the previous night, they stopped to rest near midday, to sleep for two or three hours before advancing again during the rest of the afternoon and moving again at midnight toward another camp.
Obito had made a clone, and Kakashi as well. They stayed as guards while the original bodies went to sleep.
"Sensei...", Kakashi did not go with the others to rest immediately and went to Minato, who had no intention of taking out his sleeping bag.
"What is it?", Minato asked, looking at the student.
"Why did you make a clone of yourself? I mean... you are a clone, aren't you?", he asked.
Minato opened a smile. "Very perceptive of you to notice that, Kakashi. And yes, I am only a clone. But don't worry. He is just using a jutsu to appear here. If anything happens, he would switch places with me at the same instant, or he would teleport to the kunai you keep in your hands with the Hiraishin symbol", Minato explained.
"No, that's not it... I was just a little curious about what you went to do personally...", Kakashi murmured.
"Well, since you're so curious, I'll tell you. I mean... my original self went to check something in the south. There is a certain area between the Land of Sand and the Land of Wind that I had to check. There is a kingdom there... the Kingdom of Rōran", Minato explained.
After all, there was a legendary chakra vein in that place.
Minato began to wonder where, within the planet, that chakra vein came from. And also whether Black Zetsu had knowledge of it, which would be difficult for him not to know... People's chakra should come from the fruit that was passed down by the Sage of Six Paths, so that is probably pure natural chakra from the planet itself...
Could it be an infinite chakra?
For example, if there were an alternative way to resurrect Kaguya, when one would normally need to concentrate all the chakra of the world's ninjas through the Divine Tree, draining an immense amount of chakra... But what if it were possible to use the chakra vein itself to do that instead of incubating the entire ninja world in the Divine Tree?
Had Zetsu already tested this? Or had he never even tried that possibility? After all, perhaps the chakra vein could supply the enormous amount of chakra needed to resurrect Kaguya. Perhaps the jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails would also be required.
There were so many questions in Minato's mind...
But that didn't matter at the moment, the original was about to seek some answers.
Meanwhile, Minato's original self in the south traveled through the sky like a shooting star cutting across the sunny heavens, flying at high speed. In just a few minutes, he crossed from country to country while searching for the region where the ancient kingdom was located.
And he finally found Rōran.
Minato looked at the enormous towers in the middle of the desert. Unlike what happened in the movie, there were no puppets. He could sense the entire population filling the streets, people living normally while trading with one another.
Minato flashed and appeared on one of the towers, placing his seal on it. He put a black cloak and a hood, in an ANBU-like style, over himself and simply jumped from the tower, checking with Haki the entire time to see if anyone noticed his presence. But no one had any idea that there was an infiltrator descending in free fall.
When he approached the ground, he leaned and levitated, reducing his speed as he landed softly with the power of the light fruit.
Leaving one of the alleys, he entered the city, where the streets were surrounded by gigantic towers. Anyone not accustomed to it would look up and become dizzy, then amazed. Minato had to admit that the place had its own beauty, but he kept moving forward. No one found his presence strange.
He continued placing the Hiraishin symbol in some places as he passed by and headed to where the queen's main building was located, which was on the top floor. But Minato didn't want to go there right now. He wanted to check the energy source that was below.
He was surprised to find a closed gate with several guards.
The place was practically sealed.
Minato ignored the population laughing and talking while buying masks here and there, he himself bought one and stored it away. Others bought fruits, food, and various products in the shops. He moved to a corner, observing some windows, making sure no one noticed him in the middle of the crowd.
Soon after, he discreetly threw a kunai near those windows of the building. In an instant, he appeared beside it when it got close enough and picked it up. He turned into a flash of light and passed through the small opening, entering the place.
After that, things became easier.
The guards were not prepared for an extremely fast ninja with infiltration skills learned from Jiraiya-Sensei, like Minato, who went unnoticed as he advanced to the lower floors. There was another sealed gate there, filled with seals.
Minato could break the seals after releasing the Conqueror's Haki over the guards, but that would be far too conspicuous, he couldn't alert everyone that something was wrong... So he stayed there, on one of the ceiling beams, waiting and observing.
Some time later, a sound came from inside, and some guards looked toward the gate before one of them rushed toward the stairs with an urgent expression, something was happening...
Minato waited. He stayed there for about five hours without moving.
Then someone appeared. It seemed to be someone from maintenance, wearing clothes full of fūinjutsu. The gate began to open.
At that moment, Minato threw a kunai inside without anyone noticing. That way, he could have vision of the interior. The moment the gate opened enough for someone to pass, Minato teleported to the kunai he had thrown to the other side, immediately hiding.
He quickly moved to a corner while observing the large hall.
There, the chakra vein was circulating. From time to time, it became unstable, releasing small explosions of energy outward, almost like combustion.
'So they need to perform maintenance on it...' Minato thought as he saw that enormous amount of chakra passing through the lowest part of the place.
He couldn't help but think that if that planet had several of those veins, it could be extremely dangerous, especially if someone developed ways to create weapons that functioned directly through that chakra.
Minato couldn't understand how that kingdom had still not developed something greater than a few weak puppets with a source like that... Imagine creating an infinite battery capable of powering the entire city, with weapons that could destroy entire villages. Imagine long-range explosive weapons, if they knew how to use fūinjutsu correctly.
If the Uzumaki clan were there, they would basically have already created weapons equivalent to nuclear ones, capable of being launched against any ninja village. But since the people of Rōran did not master fūinjutsu that much, they did not have the capacity to create almost intercontinental weapons capable of striking targets at great distances.
Otherwise, it would be like having something equivalent to a portion of a Bijūdama, but imagine launching several of those in sequence while having an infinite energy source.
Setting those thoughts aside, Minato watched the man begin to form several hand seals. Soon the fūinjutsu began to glow, starting a process to stabilize the chakra vein.
Minato stayed there for more than two hours, until it finally became stable. After they called three more men, all wearing clothes full of fūinjutsus, they finished the work and began to leave the place. The vein was stable.
When the door closed, Minato finally moved.
First he stretched, then began placing seals hidden throughout the place, even inside the concrete so they would not be visible on the surface.
Then he went near the source that was churning at high speed. It looked like a river inside a cylinder, flowing with such force that it could tear a man's hand off.
"Interesting...", he commented.
Minato began to think about how he could deal with that energy source in the future.
He could build a power plant there and simply power the entire world.
There were so many ideas about that place, but it still wasn't the time to interfere with it. Especially because the Third Ninja War had not yet begun, but he planned to intervene before or after the war, perhaps together with his students.
After that, there was nothing more to do there.
Minato disappeared and returned to the middle of the city. The sound of chakra circulating at high speed was replaced by the noise of the cheerful population.
Minato looked at the queen's tower.
"Let's have a talk with her...", Minato said as he disappeared.
Climbing up to the place was much easier than entering the energy source.
He entered the castle and found Queen Sēramu in the middle of an audience. The one present there was the great villain of that city, Mukade, the man who, in the future, would replace the entire population with puppets, kill the queen, and try to obtain the power of the Ryūmyaku source.
All because he claimed to know of a chaotic future.
He did not seem to be talking about the Fourth Ninja War, Madara's plan, the resurrection of the Jūbi and the Divine Tree, before Kaguya revived.
The fool should know that his plan of having the Ryūmyaku source for himself and controlling his puppet would be useless in front of those monsters... They would simply laugh at the bastard before turning him into a ball of blood.
Minato wondered whether he had really seen something like that or if that timeline had already changed, since the world was no longer as weak as before.
The day soon ended and night arrived.
Minato watched the audience end. Soon after, he followed Queen Sēramu as she returned to her chambers.
She met a teenage girl of approximately fifteen years old with red hair, different from the queen's black hair, but it was Sāra, her daughter. The queen stopped to talk with her for a few minutes, she seemed to be giving the girl some scolding for running away from the palace once again... The servants were also reprimanded for letting Sāra escape...
Minato observed everything in silence, until they said goodbye and the queen finally went to her room.
Minato also entered the place and found the queen. She seemed tired, removing the crown to place it on the bedside table. A hand quickly appeared from behind, covering her mouth. She froze and widened her eyes.
"You must be the queen." The voice came from behind her.
"Hmm...." She tried to speak, but the sound was blocked by Minato's hand, while he felt her emotions of fear and despair.
"I'm going to remove my hand. I would like you not to scream or anything like that. I'm not here to harm you. But I'll warn you: if you scream, I will know the moment you start to change your voice, and I will knock you out. I am quite fast", Minato said calmly.
The woman became even more frightened.
"Are we understood?", he asked calmly.
She nodded her head, agreeing. Minato began to move his hand away from her mouth, even feeling her breath on his skin. He stepped away from behind her and took a step back, waiting for the queen to turn around.
Minato was still wearing his cloak and the mask he had bought in the city.
"Who are you?", the woman asked cautiously. She seemed to be struggling not to call the guards, but what he had said about being able to stop her felt like it could be true.
He could only have entered there without being noticed if no one had perceived him, even with seals and barriers spread throughout the place. Nothing very efficient. Minato himself had broken the barriers, drawing fūinjutsu to contradict their functions and nullifying them with ease at high speed, he himself broke them while entering the room with her, opening and closing the door.
"I came here in peace", Minato began.
The woman certainly resembled her daughter, but with dark hair. She must have been around thirty years old and was very beautiful. Not more than Minato's wives, but certainly someone worthy of the title of queen.
"You still haven't answered. Who are you?", she repeated.
Minato sighed. "You can call me Starfall", he replied.
If he said his ANBU name, Lumem, they would certainly recognize it, since Danzō had been foolish enough to leak that information outside the ANBU. The name ended up entering the bingo book.
Because of that, Minato could no longer use that name easily, nor even work infiltrated in the ANBU.
"Starfall...", she murmured, clearly not recognizing it. And she knew that this man would not give any more information.
"Anyway, I came to give you a warning. I know that this kingdom will enter a great crisis in the near future... and you will be assassinated", he said.
The woman widened her eyes.
"And I believe that will not take long to happen", Minato added, taking a kunai with a seal.
"I know that you must be capable of manipulating some kind of chakra. If you manage to deposit chakra into this seal, it will trigger an alert for me, and I will come to help you", Minato said, handing over the kunai.
The woman took it by instinct, but looked at him with some suspicion, clearly not believing what she had just heard.
"No. As I said, I have no intention of interfering with you directly. In fact, I want to help you, because I do not want this country to fall into crisis. I saw that the chakra source will be sealed, but perhaps it will be necessary for the future of the ninja world. And I am not speaking out of greed, but rather as protection."
"One day, the ninja world will have to face a great danger. A danger that comes directly from the stars."
"You may not believe me now, but I hope that when you realize you are in danger, you activate the seal on the kunai. I will be here to rescue you, together with your daughter. And I do not intend to charge any favor for that. I am doing this only for the future", Minato said.
The woman's eyes were wide with everything she was hearing. First about her death, then about him being able to rescue her, and now about the future of the world being in danger from something that would come from the sky.
She could not process all of that.
But Minato did not even give her a chance to question further.
"Now I'm leaving. Until our next meeting. I hope you don't activate it too late. And remember: do not speak to anyone about this, not even to your advisors."
"I ask this because a betrayal comes from people close to you..."
"Believe me or not, it doesn't matter. But if you want to save yourself, when you realize you have been betrayed, activate the seal. I repeat once more: do it."
"Now I'm leaving." Minato simply disappeared the next moment.
The woman raised her hand as if she wanted to say something, but it was already too late. He had already vanished.
She kept looking at the place where Minato had been just a few seconds earlier, then at the strange kunai in her hands.
She did not know what to say about what she had just heard.
Minato could not simply say that her most important advisor, the one who helped the country so much, was the traitor. She would not believe it.
But he planted a seed of doubt and hoped she would keep the kunai in secret.
Now, whether she would truly believe his words or not was her responsibility. If she truly wanted to save herself, she would do what Minato had asked. Otherwise, it would mean the future had not changed.
Minato could not stay there to play babysitter. It depended entirely on the queen herself whether she wanted to live.
In any case, Minato did all of this so that he could finish the mission easily and the princess would not become an orphan.
After that, Minato switched places again with his clone on one of the towers, advancing directly toward the Land of Bears in the next instant.
Meanwhile, his team rested at the camp, preparing for the next day, when they would finally reach the capital.
