~~Malfoy Manor~~
Hedwig stared at her human from her perch, feeling impressed and proud… She had done nothing to feel proud, but Hadrian was her human, so she was simply feeling proud of him. He had finally done it. He had vanquished Voldemort and all of his forces in one swoop. Hedwig was rarely impressed, but now, she was most certainly impressed.
She had seen hundreds of millions of iterations of Harry Potter, but none of them had managed to impress her like this… Yes, there were several Harry Potters out there who had managed to vanquish Voldemort much sooner than her human, but none of them ever managed to vanquish all of his forces in such an efficient way.
Yes, there were some losses on their side too, but they were negligible considering the task they have completed…
"Gellert, back on Rubek, I am planning to erect a monument to honor the ones we have lost to date. What do you think?" Hadrian asked and the pale-looking man seemed to consider his words for a moment before placing his glass on the table. Unlike Harry, he didn't seem to be on board with the plan.
"Is that going to be necessary?" Gellert ended up asking with a frown. Yes, he was loyal to his men, but he never thought about doing something like this to honor their deaths.
"Yes, we do. It is important that we make everyone think that their deaths are not meaningless. We need to show them that we do not forget the ones who lose their lives out there on some mission. I am not saying that it is going to motivate them or anything, but they need to think we care" Harry slowly explained, making Gellert blink in realization.
He could see what Harry was trying to say and why he was suggesting such a course of action… He had to admit that there were merits to the idea, but the question was, why did he never come up with such an idea? It could have helped him quite a bit during his crusade… Well, all of that was in the past.
"I will get it done" Gellert finally acknowledged before again picking up his glass.
"Ugh! Can the two not talk about such things? At least tonight?" Tonks asked as she glared at her own lover since he was the one who brought it up first.
"Sorry… It just came to my mind and I didn't want to forget it or anything" Harry answered with a soft smile on his face. To be honest, he too wanted to kick back and relax now that Voldemort was finally dealt with, but just like the saying 'no rest for the wicked', Harry knew that he could not relax… Not with everything going on around him.
Voldemort was… an everlasting shadow over his life. Before his 14th birthday, all he could think about was how to bring back his mother and how to beat his nemesis… After awakening his X-Gene, he stopped thinking about how to beat the man since his victory was all but certainty after that. However, Voldemort was still a shadow looming over him, especially with the Prophecy in the play.
Now, Voldemort was gone… He was free, but that did not mean that he could relax… Another Goblin Rebellion was looming over the horizon and this time, it would be bigger than any rebellion in history. Three people were out there, running around while playing cloak and dagger with him. They had killed two of his men or worse they managed to kidnap his men and he didn't even know they were.
He didn't think that the three of them were going to stop any time soon. They were going to keep interfering until he was able to get rid of them…
Then there was MI6, SHIELD and Hydra… All of these organizations were just an afterthought for the time being, but he knew that they needed to be dealt with, eventually. The problem was that he lacked both time and information to go after them for the time being. However, right now, his biggest concern was to bring back his mother. One more week and if Hela was a woman of her word, then she was going to start teaching him Soul Magic in earnest.
After that, he would be able to finally bring back his mother… He could already feel the excitement bubbling inside him, but before he could get lost in his thoughts, Tonks decided to interrupt him…
"-rry, Harry! Are you even listening to me?" Tonks huffed with a scowl on her face.
"Sorry… I was lost in my thoughts" Harry quickly shook his head before a smile bloomed on his face. "I promise I am going to relax now, so don't worry" Harry promised. Even though he couldn't kick back and simply relax for the rest of his life, he could at least relax for a day…
Meanwhile, Hedwig, who was watching the whole interaction from the side, bopped her head in appreciation. Yes, her human was working hard, and she could appreciate that, he needed to take a break from time to time. She was not a normal owl by any means and she couldn't deliver mail all the time. To be honest, her human had too much on his plate.
Hedwig jumped off her perch and decided to take a flight… While her human had some fun with the other two-leggers, there was something else she needed to think about. There were quite a few worlds in the Multiverse where Harry Potter failed to vanquish Voldemort and those worlds were doomed… Maybe, she could get her human to fix those worlds. Unfortunately, even with a familiar bond, she did not know how to convey her thoughts to her human.
After thinking for a bit, Hedwig decided that a test run was necessary before anything else and she needed to come up with a way to convey her thoughts to him or at least, make him come to his own realization. Her human was extremely smart, so she knew that she could trust him in that regard, but before trying anything else, Hedwig knew that she needed to come up with a plan…
