Chapter 153: Save Yourselves
"What?" Asahi stood up from his seat quickly and luckily he didn't drink his tea otherwise he might vomited. "Do you mean they no longer have birdcage seal on their forehead?"
Hyuga Soren gave a slow nod, the sweat already formed on his forehead, he knows what does the seal and no seal means to his family.
Asahi stared at him for a moment before thinking how this happen and who had helped branch member reversing the seal.
Suddenly his mind thought of one person.
"Uzumaki Raiken," muttered Asahi.
"Asahi sama, do you mean Uzumaki Raiken was the one who helped the branch member to reverse the seal?" asked Soren.
"There is no one else capable of reversing the seal other than Uzumaki Clan and last time the branch member went to war with Uzumaki clan, so they might received the helps there," replied Asahi.
Both of them fell silent for a moment, the more they think of the possibility who had helped Hyuga Branch member to reverse the seal. The more they suspected it was done by Uzumaki Clan.
As clan leader he understood better than anyone what the birdcage seal meant to the main family, not just as a symbol of authority but as the very foundation that kept everything in its place. Without it the entire structure of how the Hyuga Clan operated internally would need to be reconsidered from the ground up and that was not a conversation he had ever prepared himself to have.
Never in a life he would think that he would lost the power against branch members. He had watched what happened to those who lost their grip on power without ever intending it as a lesson for himself.
Although there is no proof yet, but he knows Raiken had worked quietly behind Sakumo to dismantle the former third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen position piece by piece until the man who had once been the Third Hokage now was walking around the village, not as a leader but a normal old man without a position.
Even Danzo who had done many unquestionable thing behind the scene, had lost his footing even before Hiruzen. Both men had believed their positions were solid right up until the moment they discovered otherwise.
As a Clan leader he suspected the one who was responsible are Uzumaki Raiken but now even his family were interrupted by Raiken.
Asahi had told himself he was different, he was Hyuga Clan Leader and that the Hyuga were different. That the seal guaranteed a kind of security that even politics alone could not touch. He can only groaned with hatred, now he didn't know how his family would survive next.
Even Soren was sweating afraid of what would become next.
"We need to meet Hokage sama," said Asahi.
In this situation only Hokage sama can resolve this peacefully.
"Yes, Asahi sama," replied Soren but the tone become nervous "But they are on their way here now."
Asahi did not respond immediately of the news, Instead he activated his Byakugan and turned his gaze through the walls of the residence, scanning outward until he found what Soren just said to him.
The branch members were coming and they are waiting for the others too and they had never looked like this before.
Asahi let the Byakugan fade and stood very still for a moment, his mind moving quickly through options that all seemed to lead to the same narrow place.
There is no way he would escaped this unscathed.

UZUMAKI RAIKEN POV
"Raiken sama, it is done. All of their seals have been altered," reported Uzumaki Kirina, stepping into the study and closing the door quietly behind him.
Raiken looked up from the document in his hand.
"All of them?" he asked, wanting to make sure he had heard correctly.
"Every single branch member except the elders who hold dual standing between the main and branch family," replied Kirina, a small smile crossing his face with a dimple appearing on his cheek as he said it. "Not even one was missed and the main family has no idea the seals look any different from the outside because they are being covered by forehead protector. That said, I believe within one or two hours the branch members will begin moving against the elders and the clan leader. They have been waiting a long time for this."
Raiken set the document down and leaned back slightly in his chair, letting the information settle properly before responding.
"Any complications along the way?" he asked.
"None worth reporting, Raiken sama," replied Kirina. "There was one branch member who needed more time than the others to agree but once he understood that the protection over his eyes remained intact and only the punishment mechanism had been removed, he came around without much difficulty. The rest were willing from the moment I explained what the alteration would and would not change."
Raiken nodded slowly, satisfied with what he was hearing. The operation had taken several weeks of careful movement and not a single mistake had been made throughout the entire process. That was not something that happened without both skill and discipline and Kirina had demonstrated both in full.
"Kirina," said Raiken after a moment.
"Yes, Raiken sama?"
"You did well," he said simply and offered him a small smile that he reserved for moments like this when acknowledgment was genuinely deserved. "You will receive a bonus at the end of next month."
Kirina gave a small nod in return, keeping his composure as he always did, but the satisfaction was visible in his expression regardless. Having the clan leader personally acknowledge his work meant more than the bonus itself even if he would never say that out loud.
"Is there anything else you need from me, Raiken sama?" he asked.
"Not today," replied Raiken, picking up his document again. "Go and rest. You earned it."
"Thank you Raiken sama," smiled Kirina.
Raiken watch him go before went out with several of Uzumaki Clan directly to Hyuga residence, he didn't want branch member kill their own clan leader or elders.
