For the soldiers, this was a tormenting battle. Even when facing those Infected earlier, they were mentally prepared to strike. After all, those people seemed deranged, like lunatics with aggressive tendencies.
However, when a group of girls is crying and begging you to stop, most people would unconsciously hesitate.
"Why aren't you shooting?"
"But, they are not attacking us, they just hope we can stop!"
That's right, this is the dilemma the survivors faced. They already knew these girls were not human, and their bodies would melt after being killed.
