The story of the Space Undead needs no further elaboration. They're a bunch of backstabbers; the Ancient Saints took pity on them and helped them initially. In turn, they felt the help wasn't enough and launched an attack against the Ancient Saints.
Then the Ancient Saints rubbed them into the ground, a classic example of biting the hand that feeds you.
Even after being ground down by the Ancient Saints, this group of backstabbers remained unrepentant, creating the Star Gods and launching another attack against the Ancient Saints. They even listened to the absurdities of the Star Gods, believing that flesh is weak and mechanical ascension was preferable, abandoning their bodies and souls to turn everything into cold, hard data.
Do they actually blame the Star Gods for this?
Player evaluations would say that the Space Undead's entire life can be summed up as — their cognition matches their suffering.
Serves them right, entirely self-inflicted.
