Chapter 375: Lin Feng's Another Big Project
Dai Kuen Pao was a man of his word. When Lin Feng woke up the next day, Li Fu had already come to report:
"Brother Feng, the people from Mainland have arrived."
"They didn't go through customs, but were divided into two groups."
"One group came by water, and the other climbed over the mountains."
"The brothers are very tired, I've already arranged for them to rest at Thunder Building."
Although Thunder Building was Thunder Security's operational platform, it actually served as accommodation and training facilities.
Arranging for a thousand people was not a problem.
Lin Feng frowned slightly:
"They snuck in?"
Li Fu sighed:
"I asked Brother Bao, and he said you needed time."
Lin Feng shook his head repeatedly.
Dai Kuen Pao meant well, but it backfired.
The people from Mainland could have come through normally, without needing to sneak in.
It just gave others something to criticize.
Lin Feng immediately said:
"Have Jiang Chengyu arrange proper identities for them."
"Go through official channels."
"The situation is chaotic, but our foundation cannot be."
Li Fu agreed.
"A thousand people in Thunder Building is too conspicuous. Have the old members take them out to explore Hong Kong in batches."
"No."
"Have Tin Hung arrange for people to take them around."
"Hong Kong isn't big; two or three days should be enough for them to get familiar with it."
Li Fu noted everything down, and finally said,
"Brother Feng, why don't we let them work while they're at it?"
"Thunder Security has so many orders; we really need manpower."
Lin Feng thought about it but still shook his head:
"Let Tin Hung's people handle it. These people will be of great use in the future, and their backgrounds must be clean."
Li Fu was startled:
"Aren't you bringing so many people to make a profit from this wave?"
Lin Feng sighed:
"I didn't know Brother Bao would act so quickly."
"Normally, how could a mineral water factory be built in less than a few months?"
"Who knew Mainland would be so enthusiastic?"
"They directly acquired a newly built factory for me?"
"Plans change quickly."
"Things have changed, so I naturally have to change my plans accordingly."
"The water station matter needs to be expedited."
Li Fu said in astonishment:
"Is it really selling water?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"This is a huge market."
"I'm not willing to drink that distilled water anymore."
The water from Hong Kong reservoirs was indescribable, ultimately relying on the water from Dong River.
It was unclear which part of the process went wrong, but despite being the same water source, the taste varied greatly in different districts of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong people usually didn't drink mineral water; it wasn't widely popular.
They drank distilled water.
It was touted as the cleanest water source.
"Isn't distilled water good?" Li Fu was very puzzled.
Lin Feng casually said:
"In this world, no water factory dares to sell distilled water directly to consumers."
Li Fu was taken aback:
"Why?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"It can kill people!"
Li Fu was startled:
"Brother Feng, isn't that a bit exaggerated?"
Lin Feng shook his head:
"It's not an exaggeration. The human body needs water, but it needs the trace minerals in the water even more."
"All commercial water in the world, as long as it's for consumption, will have a certain amount of things added to it when it leaves the factory."
"Mainly minerals."
"That's also why some of the water we drink tastes astringent and some tastes sweet."
"Pure water has no taste; what affects the taste is determined by minerals."
Li Fu was astonished.
Lin Feng smiled and said:
"How can what a water factory adds be as good as what nature produces itself?"
"It's time to give Hong Kong citizens a shock about water."
Li Fu was half-convinced.
Lin Feng laughed and scolded:
"What's with that expression?"
"Have you been in Hong Kong for so long that you've forgotten the sweet well water of Mainland?"
Li Fu shook his head and said:
"The well water in my Mainland isn't sweet anymore either."
"I don't know why, but it tastes a bit astringent when I drink it."
"On the contrary, when I was a child, no, five years ago, the well water was very sweet then."
Lin Feng fell silent for a moment, then spoke:
"Then is your Mainland developing well?"
Li Fu nodded:
"Yes, many factories have been built near my Mainland, and the villagers have a lot to look forward to."
Lin Feng sighed:
"This is groundwater pollution."
"The price of development!"
Li Fu was startled.
Lin Feng briefly explained, and Li Fu immediately became anxious:
"I'll call home in a bit and tell my mother and them to drink mineral water."
Li Fu was a little embarrassed,
"Because of Brother Feng, my family got a phone."
"It's too expensive!"
Lin Feng laughed heartily:
"You work diligently, and your rewards are well-deserved."
"Advanced services in Mainland are indeed very expensive now; only a few people can afford them."
"It will be better when it develops in the future."
Lin Feng had experience with this.
In his previous life, at this time, Lin Feng was one of the few people who could afford a phone line.
At that time, it wasn't an automatic phone; an operator had to connect calls.
Just as automatic dialers were becoming widespread across the country, mobile phones emerged.
Landlines were basically no longer used.
Thinking about it, he still felt a sense of daze.
Take the cost of mobile phones, for example. Nowadays, we don't spend much on calls in a month, but when these things first appeared in Mainland, getting a mobile number and package cost twenty thousand.
That was twenty thousand in the nineties!
In reality, the cost of that thing was less than a thousand.
But Mobile sold it very expensively.
At that time, the 'Big Brother' phone was truly a rich man's toy, having nothing to do with ordinary people.
The mobile company was also ruthless, preying on these wealthy individuals.
It was because of the contributions of these people that subsequent mobile fees decreased.
This could be considered a form of 'those who get rich first help those who get rich later' to some extent.
When Lin Feng finished speaking, Li Fu's expression was quite something:
"I don't feel honored..."
Lin Feng shrugged:
"If you think of it this way, the money you spend buys honor, status."
"You have something others don't."
"Naturally, you're different from ordinary people."
"That vanity alone should be enough for you."
Li Fu shook his head:
"I don't want that vanity."
Lin Feng was speechless; he almost forgot that when Li Fu first followed him, the guy was so frugal that his socks, patched and mended, could last a year.
"Has the water arrived?"
Li Fu nodded:
"It has!"
"It's through Benny's connections."
"I heard they encountered the marine police, but when they came to inspect and saw it was water, they let them pass."
Lin Feng smiled and said:
"Hong Kong relies on resources from Mainland, especially food."
"If they dare to intercept these boats, they might get ambushed."
Li Fu kicked over a bottle.
"I guessed Brother Feng would need water, so I brought some."
Lin Feng pointed to the cup.
Li Fu deftly poured a cup.
Lin Feng tasted it, then downed it in one gulp.
He pointed to the cup again.
The cup was refilled, and he drank it all again.
This happened three times.
Li Fu was stunned:
"Brother Feng, isn't that a bit exaggerated?"
Isn't it just a cup of water?
Lin Feng glanced at him and smiled:
"Why don't you try it yourself?"
Li Fu was indifferent; wasn't it just a cup of water?
He poured himself a cup, tasted it casually, and was immediately startled.
He gulped it down.
Li Fu's expression was very complex:
"This is what water should taste like!"
What kind of stuff had he been drinking all this time?
"You've been in Hong Kong for too long, haven't you, and forgotten what sweet water tastes like?"
Lin Feng teased him with a smile.
Li Fu gave a bitter smile.
Lin Feng clapped his hands:
"Bring a few gallons of water; let's go to the film set."
Li Fu immediately made arrangements.
In the car, Lin Feng said:
"The units of measurement in Mainland are different from Hong Kong's."
"Our main market is in Hong Kong, so call Benny and tell him to use Hong Kong's units of measurement."
Benny had only been back for a few days and hadn't had a chance to properly confess to Sister Thirteen before heading back to Mainland.
There was nothing he could do; when you're out in the world, it's all about making money.
Now that a big money-making opportunity was at hand, he naturally couldn't get caught up in romance.
This wasn't Liang Kun exploiting him; Liang Kun, Shui Ling, and Lin Feng all wanted to create an opportunity for Benny to confess, but Benny himself thought making money was more important and proactively set the matter aside.
Liang Kun and the others could only respect Benny's decision.
Li Fu agreed.
Arriving at the film set, Lin Feng looked closely and nodded with satisfaction.
This time, no one dared to block their set again.
Liang Kun said to Lin Feng:
"This little fatty works very fast. It's only been a few days, and the story is almost filmed."
"He's almost catching up to my progress when I used to film adult movies."
Lin Feng was speechless.
Liang Kun's adult movies weren't pure pornography; they also had storylines.
Of course, one shouldn't expect the storylines in Category III films to be very intricate.
They would spend an hour filming the dramatic scenes, then a day filming the action scenes.
The focus of adult movies was the action, so it required the most time to polish.
"I'm finding the little fatty more and more pleasing to the eye. How about we let him film a few adult movies at Qiankun Film and Television?"
"I just don't know if the little fatty would be willing."
"Directors like them are quite ambitious; they are cultured individuals."
Liang Kun was an old hand at illicit businesses, and adult films were naturally one of them.
Of course, adult films were not tolerated by society and could only be watched in secret.
In the hierarchy of directors, adult films were definitely below commercial films.
"Brother Kun, don't worry, the chubby kid will definitely go."
Lin Feng skillfully took a box of cigars from Liang Kun and contentedly lit one for himself.
Liang Kun was already numb and didn't care about Lin Feng's "snatching" behavior, asking curiously:
"I see that the chubby kid's technical skill is not low. Will he really go to Qiankun Film and Television to shoot adult films?"
Lin Feng laughed:
"The chubby kid's Old Man is a big director at TVB, so he comes from a distinguished family background."
"But don't worry, the chubby kid isn't a proper person; he's lustful, so he'll definitely go shoot them."
Liang Kun immediately nodded.
"Alright then, I'll have the chubby kid shoot a few later."
Lin Feng wondered:
"Brother Kun, do you have time to make adult films?"
Liang Kun shook his head:
"I just want to see what level the chubby kid can achieve."
"With my current status, why would I need to shoot adult films?"
"I can't even finish the legitimate businesses."
Lin Feng was astonished:
"You mean, you want to appreciate them yourself?"
Liang Kun nodded:
"That's right, for my own appreciation."
Lin Feng asked:
"What would Sister-in-law think if she saw them?"
Liang Kun froze.
He unconsciously clutched his waist.
"Why bring her up when there's nothing else to do?"
Lin Feng said in surprise:
"Boss, you're not, uh, weak, are you?"
"You're someone who always keeps three to five fire extinguishers on hand, how could this happen?"
Liang Kun said irritably:
"Thirty like a wolf, forty like a tiger…"
"Your Sister-in-law is no ordinary person!"
"Actually, that's not the point."
Lin Feng asked with a chuckle:
"Then what is the point?"
Liang Kun sighed heavily:
"Your Sister-in-law wants a child."
"Except for those few days, she almost always bothers me every night."
"She won't stop until she's squeezed every last drop out of me."
Lin Feng looked at him sympathetically:
"Boss, I told you a long time ago to marry and have children…"
Liang Kun, mortified, said:
"Go, go, go, go, you're so disrespectful."
If it were someone else, like Chan Yiu or Benny, teasing him, Liang Kun wouldn't be so embarrassed.
Lin Feng was different.
He was a brother he had watched grow up, so it naturally felt different.
"Brother Kun, I have a new project. Do you want to invest?"
Liang Kun was startled:
"What project?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"Selling water!"
Liang Kun said in surprise:
"You're interested in such a small profit?"
Lin Feng wondered:
"Selling water is a big business. You call it a small profit?"
Liang Kun's mouth dropped open:
"Selling water can be a big business?"
Lin Feng sighed:
"Haven't I often said that as long as you have enough customers, selling water can also make you a Tycoon?"
Liang Kun was dismissive:
"You just say that casually. How can selling water make you the richest person?"
"Besides, it's just water, isn't it?"
"Hong Kong has it too."
"Since the reservoirs were built, there hasn't been as much water shortage as before…"
"Why sell water of all things? Will anyone buy it?"
Clap!
Lin Feng snapped his fingers.
Li Fu immediately poured a glass of water for Liang Kun and respectfully handed it over.
Liang Kun was even more surprised:
"You guys are serious about this?"
Lin Feng said, puzzled:
"Am I supposed to be faking it?"
"Boss, I'm telling you, I've got everything else ready."
"Just waiting to launch it on the market."
Liang Kun looked at Lin Feng with confusion, then at the water in the glass, took a sip, and his eyes immediately lit up.
"Another glass."
Li Fu suddenly felt this scene was very familiar.
One glass after another, and another after that.
It wasn't until Liang Kun's stomach swelled and he let out a loud burp that he stopped.
Liang Kun still held the water glass reluctantly, complaining wildly to Lin Feng:
"What was I drinking before?!"
Lin Feng smiled:
"Boss, I didn't lie to you, did I? This is what real water tastes like!"
Liang Kun asked:
"How much does a bottle of this cost?"
"One dollar?"
Lin Feng said in surprise:
"How can you insult this bottle of water like that?"
"Such delicious water, of course it has to be three dollars."
Liang Kun almost choked to death.
"Currently, white-collar workers' salaries are only three thousand."
"You're selling a bottle of water for three dollars?"
"What are you thinking?"
"So they can only buy a thousand bottles of water for a month's work?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"This kind of water is placed in convenience stores, three dollars a bottle, no bargaining."
"What we're selling is three-gallon or five-gallon water."
Liang Kun frowned:
"How much will that cost?"
Lin Feng smiled:
"A three-gallon bottle of water is thirty-three dollars, and a five-gallon bottle is fifty dollars!"
Liang Kun's eyes widened:
"Will anyone buy that?"
Lin Feng said seriously:
"This is a highly profitable industry."
"I plan to set up several water stations in the eighteen districts of Hong Kong."
"Don't say I don't look out for my brothers; a franchise water station is one hundred thousand."
"How many do you want?"
Liang Kun's gaze was somewhat evasive:
"Ah Feng, you have so many businesses, there's no need to focus on such a small profit, is there?"
Lin Feng chuckled coldly:
"Small profit?"
"You'll know in less than three days."
"Boss, do you want in?"
Liang Kun frowned:
"Are you really optimistic about this business?"
Lin Feng said, exasperated:
"This is a big business…"
"If it weren't for our brotherhood, wanting to help you guys out, I wouldn't even bother saying anything."
"How much is a franchise station?"
"Can't I just take it all myself?"
Upon hearing this, Liang Kun immediately said:
"Then I want twenty franchise stations."
Lin Feng looked around: "How about we go to the Hall of Brotherhood to discuss it?"
Liang Kun was utterly speechless:
"Such a small matter and we have to go to the Hall of Brotherhood?"
Lin Feng was very serious:
"This is not a small amount of money."
"Let's not damage our brotherhood over this money."
Liang Kun looked at him with suspicion and uncertainty.
He could tell that Lin Feng was serious.
After thinking for a moment, he decided to go to the Hall of Brotherhood.
It just so happened that because of the movie shoot, all the Hung Hing hall masters and leaders, except Benny, were present.
Lin Feng displayed the water and said to everyone:
"Don't say I don't look out for you brothers; when I decided to set up water stations, you were the first people I thought of."
"The franchise fee is two hundred thousand per family."
"Those who want to sign up."
"It's purely voluntary, no coercion."
Sister Thirteen asked:
"Ah Feng, do the water stations require any other preparations?"
Lin Feng shook his head:
"The water stations don't need any preparation; we can rely on our community convenience stores."
Sister Thirteen was startled:
"So, no upfront investment is needed?"
Lin Feng shook his head:
"No!"
"But I must make it clear, these water stations must sell at the prices I set."
"I need to arrange one worker for each water station."
"You don't need to bear their salaries."
Sister Thirteen became interested:
"What are the cost price and selling price of this water, respectively?"
Lin Feng shrugged:
"Three-gallon water is twenty-one per barrel for you, and five-gallon is thirty-five per barrel."
"When you sell it, a three-gallon barrel is thirty-three dollars, and a five-gallon barrel is fifty dollars."
"The price is unified across all of Hong Kong."
Everyone was in an uproar; it was too expensive!
Liang Kun watched this scene with interest. In terms of business acumen, he truly couldn't compare to Lin Feng. But Lin Feng wanted to persuade these hall masters and leaders, which would probably not be easy.
Lin Feng asked again:
"Is there anyone who wants to join?"
"If no one does, then I'll take it all myself."
"Don't you dare say later that I didn't give you a hand."
Liang Kun secretly shook his head. The more Lin Feng said this, the less likely these people would join.
Indeed, just as Liang Kun expected, there was a lot of whispering among the people, but few joined.
Just as Liang Kun thought Lin Feng was about to suffer a setback, someone came out to stir things up.
Brother Kei laughed:
"My territory has many factories, and water consumption is high. Ah Feng, I want ten franchise stores."
Lin Feng laughed:
"Brother Kei, you have good foresight!"
Liang Kun secretly shook his head. It seemed Ah Feng was truly about to suffer a setback. All the Hung Hing hall masters knew that Brother Kei always had a knack for being on the wrong side.
Wang Jianjun raised his hand and said:
"Boss, I want twenty."
Axe Jun was not to be outdone,
"Boss, I want twenty."
Chicken raised his hand and said decisively:
"Brother Feng, I want thirty."
Big D laughed heartily:
"Ah Feng, I want forty!"
Liang Kun's eyes widened; this was not what he had expected!

Chapter 376: Ah Feng Was Right Again
"Are you all crazy?!
You're all following this?!
Ah Feng is just messing around!"
Liang Kun was stunned.
When he returned home, he still couldn't understand why this was happening.
"You went to a company meeting, how did you become so absent-minded?"
Shuiling found Liang Kun's state very strange.
"I feel like everyone at the company has gone crazy," Liang Kun mumbled. He leaned on Shuiling's shoulder and recounted the entire situation.
Shuiling's eyes lit up:
"Ah Feng has a new project again?"
She pushed Liang Kun away and quickly pulled out her phone to call.
"Ah Feng, about your water stations, can you give twenty to Ah Kun?"
Lin Feng laughed heartily:
"Sister-in-law, I've reserved forty for Brother Kun."
Shuiling said delightedly:
"Your Brother Kun didn't dote on you for nothing."
"How much money? I'll send it over to you."
Lin Feng was speechless:
"I talk about money with others, but how can I talk about money with a Big Brother?"
"Actually, if I wasn't afraid that the brothers wouldn't take it seriously, I wouldn't even ask them for money."
"The franchise fee for a water station is 200,000… they can break even in a month…"
Shuiling exclaimed:
"Your brotherhood is truly strong."
"Do you have time these next two days to come over for dinner?"
Lin Feng asked:
"Is Sister-in-law cooking herself?"
Shuiling raised an eyebrow:
"Of course!"
Lin Feng smiled:
"Then I'll definitely go."
Shuiling said happily:
"It's a deal then."
Only then did she hang up the phone.
Liang Kun was even more stunned:
"What are you doing?"
"Everyone at the company has gone crazy, and you've gone crazy too?"
Shuiling rolled her eyes at Liang Kun:
"Only you would think that the Big Brothers of Hung Hing have gone crazy."
"Don't you think, if one person says there's a problem, that's possible."
"But everyone believes Ah Feng's project will make money, and only you object. Who do you think the problem lies with?"
Liang Kun was very depressed:
"Ah Feng's investments are indeed accurate, but this one is different."
Shuiling said with amusement:
"What's so different?"
"I think Ah Feng is very capable."
Liang Kun was very annoyed:
"Are you stupid?"
"Selling water in Hong Kong? How much money can that make?"
"A water station franchise fee is 200,000… how much water do you have to sell to earn that back?"
"Our Hung Hing is currently undergoing restructuring. According to the plan Ah Feng gave, if we just restructure some of the Triad's businesses, wouldn't we earn more than this?"
"It's time-consuming and laborious!"
Shuiling asked:
"Does building a water station require a large investment?"
Liang Kun shook his head:
"No!"
"Ah Feng said it only needs to rely on the established convenience stores."
"It's nothing more than investing a bit more in delivery workers."
Shuiling smiled:
"Well, there you have it then?"
Liang Kun's eyes widened:
"What are you talking about?"
Shuiling said with amusement:
"Ah Feng's water station is almost a zero-investment venture."
"The main cost is just our labor."
"Water stations need workers to deliver water to each household."
"That water is so sweet."
"I calculated it myself; our family, for instance, needs at least three three-gallon barrels daily."
Liang Kun was startled:
"When did you ever use the water Ah Feng brought back?"
Shuiling sighed: "Would Ah Feng forget you if he had good things?"
"Jian Jun delivered twenty barrels of water to me early this morning, ten three-gallon and ten five-gallon."
"Heh, now this is water!"
Liang Kun, while suddenly enlightened, was also quite smug:
"What kind of relationship do Ah Feng and I have?"
"When there's something good, of course, he thinks of me first!"
Shuiling then calculated for him:
"This water, just for drinking, is incredible."
"I consulted our family doctor, and each of us needs about 0.7 gallons of water per day."
"Families in Hong Kong generally have many members; a family would have at least five people."
"That means, just for drinking, they would need 3.5 gallons of water."
"And that's not all."
"Cooking, laundry, mopping… that would double it. A family wouldn't even have enough with five gallons of water a day."
"Calculating this way, a family would need at least thirty five-gallon barrels of water a month…"
"How much does a five-gallon barrel of water cost?"
Liang Kun was numb, and said vaguely:
"Ah Feng's wholesale price is thirty-five, and he sells it for fifty."
Shuiling immediately said:
"That means there's a profit of fifteen dollars per barrel of water."
"Thirty barrels would be 450 dollars."
"The population density in Hong Kong's residential areas is high; a single complex would have at least a thousand households."
"That's 450,000 a month."
Liang Kun's eyes widened dramatically:
"450,000?"
"No mistake?"
Shuiling smiled:
"How could it be a mistake?"
Liang Kun thought for a moment and then countered:
"No, it's not possible that every single one of those thousand households would use it, right?"
Shuiling chuckled:
"Hong Kong citizens love to compare; if my family uses it and yours doesn't, where would you put your face?"
"If it were something else from other Big Brothers, it would indeed be hard to compare."
"But this is water!"
"Can't you afford 450 dollars a month?"
Liang Kun was stunned; it really was that logic.
"Could I really have been wrong?"
Shuiling's fair, tender finger tapped Liang Kun's head,
"You, you're truly smart in general but foolish at times."
Liang Kun was terribly upset:
"No, why would I object?"
"What kind of relationship do Ah Feng and I have?"
"How could I suspect him?"
Shuiling said softly:
"This is very normal."
Liang Kun said seriously:
"No, this is not normal."
Shuiling smiled and shook her head:
"It's normal!"
Liang Kun was confused:
"How is it normal?"
"My relationship with Ah Feng, in Hung Hing and even in the jianghu, who can compare to it?"
"But all the other Hung Hing hall masters believe in Ah Feng's choice, and only I don't believe…",
"Where did the problem go wrong?"
Shuiling said with amusement:
"I tell you you're confused, and you really are confused."
"I ask you, whenever there's a big matter, for example, if Ah Feng is going to do something dangerous, do you support it or not?"
Liang Kun didn't hesitate for a second:
"Of course, I support it."
"When it comes to making money, he can leave me out, but when it's about risking our lives, brothers must go together."
"Brothers in arms, father and son in battle, does that even need to be said?"
Shuiling shrugged:
"Well, there you have it?"
"There's nothing wrong with you two brothers."
Liang Kun was still upset:
"But why do I always doubt Ah Feng?"
Shuiling saw it clearly:
"All the issues you doubt are Ah Feng's investment choices."
Liang Kun was exhausted:
"Yes!"
"If I had followed Ah Feng's investments from the beginning, I would be a billionaire by now."
Shuiling completely understood Liang Kun's feelings:
"I actually know the reason for this."
Liang Kun quickly asked:
"Wife, tell me, what's the problem?"
Shuiling sighed:
"You adopted Ah Feng when he was seven, and you two have gone through life and death together for over ten years."
"You are brothers in name, but in reality, there isn't much difference between you and father and son."
Liang Kun was slightly stunned, then shook his head:
"Father and son or whatever, let's not. Ah Feng is my best brother."
Shuiling rolled her eyes at him again:
"That's where the problem lies."
Liang Kun looked at Shuiling with great curiosity:
"Is good affection also the reason I doubt Ah Feng?"
Shuiling simply spoke plainly:
"Your bond isn't that of father and son, but it surpasses it."
"It's just that, since you watched Ah Feng grow up, you have a slight bias when it comes to his financial matters."
Liang Kun looked at her suspiciously:
"Can you explain it in more detail?"
Shuiling explained:
"It's pretty much like being a parent, you have a built-in filter."
"No matter how capable Ah Feng is, in your eyes, he's always a child. No matter how many achievements he's made, he's always a child in front of you."
"You will naturally use your own common sense to deny Ah Feng's judgment."
"Nothing else, it's just a parent's thing!"
Liang Kun was startled.
Thinking about it carefully, it really seemed to be the case.
Most of the time, when Lin Feng offered investment advice that seemed "unreliable," Liang Kun wouldn't follow it.
This isn't to say Liang Kun is incompetent; he started out selling fish balls and has his own set of business logic.
Lin Feng's suggestions went beyond his realm of common sense, so he naturally didn't follow them.
Their relationship was so close that there was no distinction between them; while others might worry about not giving Lin Feng face, Liang Kun didn't have to worry at all.
Because of this, he missed many opportunities to get rich that Lin Feng brought.
He couldn't find the reason before, but now, after Shuiling's analysis, he immediately understood.
Liang Kun embraced Shuiling and said:
"My wife, you're so good, you advised me and still saved my face."
"Couldn't you have just said that I didn't listen to Ah Feng because of my fragile self-esteem?"
Shuiling looked at him with a half-smile:
"Really?"
Liang Kun rolled his eyes:
"How could it be fake?"
"I started out selling fish balls, and I fancy myself a good hand at business."
"When it comes to doing business, I'm not afraid of anyone."
Among Hung Hing's Hall Masters, who is as meticulous as me when it comes to business?
Ah Feng's business skills? I taught him everything...
Shuiling giggled.
Liang Kun put his arm around Shuiling and said, "I've always wondered why my financial luck isn't better..."
Shuiling interrupted him, "Your financial luck isn't good enough?"
Liang Kun said matter-of-factly, "Compared to Ah Feng, my financial luck is certainly not good."
"If I had consistently followed Ah Feng's lead, even if I couldn't compare to the Tycoons, I'd still be considered a rich man in Hong Kong, wouldn't I?"
Shuiling nodded seriously. That was true.
"I never knew the reason before, but hearing you say it, I understand now. I underestimated Ah Feng."
"His eyes can see things we can't."
"From now on, whenever he involves me in a business deal, I'll invest blindly. That's the way to go."
Shuiling gave him a warning, "I'm just afraid that next time Ah Feng proposes a project, you'll dismiss it again."
Liang Kun burst out laughing, "We're in this business to make money. Am I crazy enough to go against money?"
"You'll see, no matter what, I'll listen to Ah Feng."
Shuiling lightly punched him, "It's good that you understand."
"Even that oaf Da D blindly trusts Ah Feng. Can your relationship with Ah Feng be compared to Da D's?"
"And yet you refuse your own brother."
Liang Kun looked bewildered, "Does Da D even have a brain?"
The couple exchanged glances and burst into laughter.
The next day, Liang Kun had Chan Yiu handle the water station matters.
Chan Yiu said, "Mr. Li, the water station business is both easy and difficult."
"Ah Feng has placed one of his own people in each water station."
Liang Kun wondered, "What do you mean?"
Chan Yiu explained, "Ah Feng has placed someone from his Mainland in each water station."
"He quietly told me that he wants to establish a fixed intelligence network."
Liang Kun smiled, "That sounds like him."
"Ah Feng values information the most. Our Hung Hing has earned a lot of money thanks to Ah Feng's information."
Chan Yiu immediately swallowed the words he was about to say.
If Liang Kun said so, what more was there to say?
"Ah Yao, tell the brothers to listen to Lei Ting."
"These people are not ordinary."
Chan Yiu was startled, an incredulous expression on his face, "Brother Kun, you knew?"
Liang Kun gave him a faint look, "I know what you're worried about."
"Let me tell you, Ah Feng has very good connections in his Mainland."
"Otherwise, do you think his Mainland would send so many elites over?"
"Fully support everything Ah Feng wants to do."
Chan Yiu immediately relaxed, "Yes!"
After Chan Yiu left, Shuiling smiled, "Ah Yao is good."
Liang Kun snorted, "Of course I know he's good, but he's a bit too cunning."
"You can suspect anyone but Ah Feng."
Shuiling defended Chan Yiu, "Ah Yao wasn't suspecting Ah Feng, but rather this group of people."
Liang Kun explained with a smile, "Ah Feng is very steady."
"Before he started doing things, his mouth was sealed. He always did whatever I told him to do."
"Since he started doing things on his own, he's been very low-key."
"He's slippery, leaving no handles for anyone to grab."
"His record is much cleaner than all of ours combined."
"How could such a brother mess up?"
"Ah Yao is overthinking it."
Shuiling looked thoughtful.
Liang Kun changed the subject, "That little chubby guy named Wang Jingjing really has a knack for it. This movie was filmed so quickly."
"I had a blast filming it too."
"It's a shame the first part is already finished."
Shuiling chuckled, "If you want to make movies, just ask Ah Feng to write you more scripts."
Liang Kun shrugged, "Ah Feng is going to Taiwan. We'll talk about it when he gets back."
"Oh, and I haven't seen Ding Yao in a while. You're her Sister-in-law, remember to prepare some gifts."
"Ah Feng's wives are truly devoted to Old Mother."
"As the eldest Sister-in-law, you can't show favoritism."
Shuiling rolled her eyes at him, "Do I need you to tell me that?"
"I prepared them ages ago."
Liang Kun became even happier.
His scenes in Young and Dangerous were filmed first, so he finished early.
Liang Kun was a bit bored, but the streets were chaotic, so he simply stayed home.
He thought the day would pass without incident, but then the phone started ringing non-stop in the evening.
The first call was from Hung Hing's ally, Sun Luen Shing:
"Brother Kun, can I ask you for a favor?"
Liang Kun was a little surprised, "Ah Lok, our two companies are partners. Is there any need to ask for a favor?"
Although he said that, Liang Kun's tone was very cheerful.
Sun Luen Shing was also one of the Top Ten Gangs, and Lok Chi-ming asking him for a favor, using the word "ask," made Liang Kun very happy.
Lok Chi-ming was a bit embarrassed, "Brother Kun, please help our Sun Luen Shing get rich."
Liang Kun wondered, "Hung Hing reorganized, and didn't you follow suit?"
"The businesses our company does are pretty much the same as yours."
"What do you mean by that? Help you get rich?"
Lok Chi-ming explained, "I'm talking about the water stations."
Liang Kun was stunned, "Water stations?"
"Is your information that well-informed?"
Lok Chi-ming quickly explained, "Didn't Sai Ngan open a few water stations in Kowloon City?"
"I tried it, and that's real water!"
"What was I drinking before?"
"I asked Sai Ngan and found out that you Hung Hing started water stations, using live water from the Dong River, all-natural and additive-free."
"Brother Kun, can we add a few water stations in our Sun Luen Shing territory too?"
Liang Kun smiled, "The water stations were set up by Ah Feng. You're interested in such small-scale businesses?"
Lok Chi-ming gave a wry smile, "If this is a small business, then what's a big business?"
"The few water stations here in Kowloon City are overflowing with people, and many can't even order water."
"When I chatted with Sai Ngan this morning, he said someone was delivering a thousand barrels of water today, and he didn't know how long it would take to sell them."
"When I went in the afternoon, the water was gone!"
Liang Kun's eyes widened, "What?!"
"The water sold out?"
Lok Chi-ming nodded repeatedly, "Yes, the water sold out!"
"Many customers directly pre-ordered double."
Hiss!
Liang Kun gasped, "You're not lying to me, are you? A thousand barrels of water isn't enough to supply?"
Lok Chi-ming kept shaking his head, "Not enough!"
"Although the population density of West Kowloon can't compare to North Point, it's still an extremely dense area."
"Sai Ngan's eyes were practically gone from smiling."
"Brother Kun, help out a brother."
Liang Kun frowned slightly, "You're really interested in these small businesses?"
Lok Chi-ming sighed heavily, "Brother Kun, your Hung Hing is a big enterprise, so you might consider selling water a small business. Our Sun Luen Shing can't compare to your wealth."
"One of Sai Ngan's water stations can bring in two to three hundred thousand a month, after all expenses..."
"And, water stations can also provide jobs for brothers."
"The investment isn't high either."
"This is a top-notch business."
Liang Kun secretly pouted. That big mouth Sai Ngan, he can't even make a fortune quietly!
He was about to politely refuse when he suddenly remembered Chan Yiu's words,
"This matter... it's not impossible."
"We are brother Triads, so if you make a request, I certainly won't refuse."
"However, this business belongs to Ah Feng, so you'll have to call him."
Lok Chi-ming was overjoyed, "Thank you, Brother Kun!"
After hanging up, Liang Kun exclaimed, "You were right! Ah Feng's insight is truly sharp."
"Sai Ngan's water station just opened, and Lok Chi-ming is already eyeing it."
Shuiling said delightedly, "This is a good thing."
"But, you're just going to let Ah Lok talk to Ah Feng like that?"
Liang Kun shrugged, "Don't forget Ah Feng's original intention for opening the water stations; he wants to establish an intelligence network."
"How could he refuse Ah Lok?"
"We can't just put bounties on the streets every time something happens, can we?"
Shuiling smiled faintly.
Lin Feng's bounty was a major weapon for the Triad, and it wasn't good to use it constantly.
Just as Shuiling was about to speak, the phone rang again. Liang Kun, with a strange expression, handed the phone to Shuiling:
"Szeto Ho-Nam called!"
Shuiling was startled, "Why is he calling?"
"I'm not with Tung Sing anymore."
Taking the call, Szeto Ho-Nam pleaded, "Boss, could you please ask Brother Kun to give us a few water stations?"
