The forest was vast. It stretched across the land farther than Sylven could see, filled with trees of countless varieties.
Some of them were small and young while others were enormous and ancient. He recognized familiar species such as oak, maple, birch, pine, cedar, redwood, and baobab, yet some of them grew together in places where they would almost never naturally exist side by side.
Trees from completely different climates stood within the same forest as though the boundaries between continents and ecosystems had simply disappeared.
Sylven could not help feeling happy as he looked at the incredible environment around him. The forest seemed to exist in perfect harmony. Every tree, plant, flower, and patch of moss appeared to have its own place within the ecosystem.
There was something beautiful about seeing so much life growing together without the destruction and corruption he had become accustomed to seeing elsewhere.
For a moment, Sylven almost became captivated by it.
