Erend had honestly expected too much from this attempt. A part of him had hoped that he would be able to control the Black Rage during his very first meditation session. He needed to master it as quickly as possible before it endangered the people around him, and deep down, he had foolishly wished that he could simply confront it once and succeed immediately.
But that expectation had clearly been unrealistic.
There was no way something this powerful could be mastered in an instant, even if it was ultimately a part of himself.
Erend looked toward Velrion and gave him a small smile.
"Thank you," he said sincerely. "You've helped me a lot. And thank you as well, Sky Anchor. Without you, I might've gone berserk just now."
The Sky Anchor's gentle voice echoed inside his mind a moment later.
"I merely suppressed it temporarily. The only person who can truly stop the Black Rage is yourself. In the end, it is you who must control your own power."
"Is that so?" Erend murmured.
