Throughout breakfast, Fiona Schmidt didn't lift her head to look at him even once.
She quietly ate with her head down, while the man kept a smile, not bothering her, silently eating and watching.
At first, Fiona was indifferent, but as time went on, she began to feel uneasy, being stared at continuously, giving her a sense of being surveilled, making her feel uncomfortable all over.
"Lewis Holmes..." She raised her head, glared at him, and then a hint of a cold smile appeared at the corners of her mouth, "Do you have that much leave over ten years? Been away from the military for so long!?"
"Of course not..." The man smiled, picked up a napkin to wipe his hands, his manner elegant, "The leave isn't that much, but once I've decided on something, I can't abandon it halfway. I applied to the higher-ups, taking continuous leave until my matters are resolved, using up all the leave I'd have before retirement in the next few decades!..."
