Chapter 20
'Take care of my mother.' That is the last thing I uttered to the maids before walking back all the way to my work place.
In my office, I find Lexus asleep, so asleep that he didn't wake up even after the loud sound I made by opening the door.
It is still 3 pm, so I have enough time to complete some of my paper works which I have not filled and signed for 2 years and was remained untouched throughout the years.
These documents were important ones that only me, the duke can give or permit, so that it can be done, that is why it was not touched by my butler and chose to patiently wait for me.

I walk towards my desk, sits in my most hated chair and picks the first paper that caught my eye. Grabbing my fountain pen, I started filling the documents. A tiring job, for a tiring day.
By 4 pm, I had refreshments, meanwhile, the man sleeping on the couch was still asleep. He must be so, so tired, to sleep that long.
I glance Lexus' sleeping figure. –His so defenseless.
I knew he was relaxed here because it is my mansion, but it was not the same when he was at the border. Even just a slight sound, he would immediately open his eyes and stand up in a defensive posture, but looking at him right now, he is totally unbelievable. He is so relaxed.
By 6 pm, I finished filling and signing the documents, and was now neatly laid on my desk.
-Ah… my back hurts.-
I raised my hands together in the air and bend my neck, which produced a satisfying cracking sound.
I stood up and approach the man who was fast asleep. His sleeping posture brought a smile to my once stone appearance. He made his left hand as a substitute pillow, the other was resting in his stomach.
His eyes are still close, so I decided to climb over him. I easily climb on top of him as his legs were just resting straight on the couch's handgrip.
My legs are folded in his each side and I stared at him from above. –I can't believe this man.
For 2 minutes, I have been gawking at him with intensity, yet he still has not detected my presence.
I grew bored, so rested my right hand near his head and start to laggardly move my head downward, eyeing his face.
Finally, I can see some movements in his face, especially his eyes. It opens and flutter like butterflies' wings. I got mesmerized by his deep, ocean eyes that I didn't notice what kind of expression I made in front of him. I gulped my own saliva, as I could feel myself drooling at the meat served before me.
"Ly? Oh, do you want me?" the man smiles and asks me gently.
He tried to reach my face, but I didn't let him. I abruptly stood my upper body and muttered under my breath.
"His appetizing."
The man seems to hear my mumbling.
"What? Pft. Hahaha."
"What are you laughing at?"
"It's nothing." He answered, snaking his right hand toward my hips.
I frown, feeling his hand gently tugging my pants. –He's hornier than that guy…- I shrugged, annoyed at myself. -Why can't that man get out from my head anyway? We only met one time-
The movements near my back *brought me to earth. [Means um break you away from your thoughts]
If this activity continue, we might really do it, and I absolutely must not. I should control my hormones. To stop this temptation, I should be determined to say no to this.
With that in mind, I snatch his hand and got down, even if his so appetizing to the bone, I should not do that kind of activity, especially when I needed his strength tomorrow. If I suck his energy, he won't become of great help for me tomorrow.

I'm really surprised when my master got on top of me. Her expression made me laugh, she was drooling at me, while saying I'm appetizing.
My body recover its strength now, it won't be a problem to perform a vigorous exercise, so I tried snaking her hips to stimulate her, but she grabbed my hand and fling it to the side, and successfully climb down away from me.
"Lexus tell the Michaelmas to prepare the things I needed for tomorrow." She has her back on me, so I could not see the expression she is making.
-Ah, I made some guesses earlier about this, but it didn't make sense.- "May I know why?" I'm curious, so I asked.
"The emperor asked me yesterday to guard the border, again, for 5 years." Master told me, still facing her back on me.
"Why? It's been only 3 days and half since you arrived here, and he wants you to go back there, again? Is he mad?" I greatly oppose the idea of her going to the border again.
We have been guarding that place for a whole 2 years and now another 5 years? What is that freaking old man thinking? He just can't order everybody the way he pleases, especially when their life is at stake.
My master have not taken a rest since she arrived at her estate. Raping a man, dealing a troublesome prince, doing paper works and managing the estate, I know she is too exhausted.
"Well, that old man gave me two choices, though." She said, finally turning her head towards my direction.
"…" –Two choices? I guess all of those were terrible as hell, mainly the other one she didn't pick-
I stared at her, waiting for the choices to be revealed. When I heard the options, I really want to punch that long beard emperor. How dare he?
"He let me choose, whether I will guard the border for 5 years, or… marry his son." Master explained to me, shrugging her shoulder.
Those two choices were so terrible, it makes me want to puke blood because of anger rising within me. There is no other way, master don't like to be tied down, so obviously she will pick the first option.
And if I'm the one to be asks such question, I would choose the one my master picked. 5 years is better than your whole life, especially when you have to spend the rest of your life living with an annoying prince.
One of her reasons, too, was that she never liked royals to begin with, she hated their guts. I even asked myself why did she and the crown prince became lovers, when she hated them. Must be the power of love, but that love is nowhere to be found right now.
....
"Well, Lexus. Now you know why, can you hurry up and tell Michaelmas?"
I don't know what this stupid man was thinking, and I don't care what it is, but he needed to move his butt out of the couch.
"Pack your things also, if you're late tomorrow morning then I'm leaving you here." I added.
"Don't worry, master, I won't be late." I nod at is assuring words.
Again, I turn my back away from him. I heard footsteps walking farther away from me. After I heard the sound of a closing door, I began staring outside the window.
The sun is setting down, but I didn't get to see the beautiful sight. The high walls are blocking the view. All I can see is a group of creeping vines crawling up the barricade and a lonely willow being swayed by the wind.
When I get to see that willow, the things the old man told me came to mind.
'Ly, this tree was a portal to another world, it can be open once in a blue moon. I know, you are doubting me, but I personally witnessed someone open the portal. Even if you won't believe me, promise to never chop this tree down.'
I can still remember this memory, I was a child back then when he told me that, however I have not forgotten it. Maybe because it was unbelievable? I don't know why or what the cause, but all secrets and the things the old man told me, I can recall it as clear as the sun.
As I watch the willow tree's hair dangling, I thought about tomorrow's journey.
I have been staying within four walls of this office, so I decided to come out of my den.
I walk towards the door and grab the knob. I open the door and saw the dull scenery.
No flowers to enhance the place, no decorations or even just a flowering weed. All I can perceive on the ground only is a one type of wild grass creeping to survive.
It is not that I didn't try making the place wonderful, but it's just flowers or other plants can't grow here in this environment. Only the wild grass, non-flowering creeping vines and the lonely willow were just the ones who could stay alive here.
By the time I knew the problem, I stopped the gardeners to make the place marvelous, which is very impossible to be achieved of. I even go as far as to ask my commander to heal the area, but it is no use. It seems the place is really hopeless, it's much better to just leave it be.
