Before the two old women could even understand what was happening, their heads crashed together. With a sickening thud, they swayed for a moment before slowly collapsing to the ground, one to the left and one to the right.
The one old woman left standing glanced at the figures on the ground and stumbled back, hastily scooping up the quilts from the floor. "Miss Jiefei, the quilts are for you."
Gu Fei took them, tossed one to a young maidservant, and kept one for herself.
The young maidservants looked at Gu Fei, their eyes full of gratitude. "Thank you so much, Sister Jie."
One quick-witted young maid gathered some straw and spread it by the wall. "Sister Jie, Second Miss, please, sit here."
Gu Fei slowly lowered herself onto the straw, lying on her stomach and gasping for breath from the pain.
The Second Miss was beside herself with worry. "Jiefei, let me see the wounds on your back."
Gu Fei shook her head. "There's no need. It won't kill me."
'I have medicine in my space, but I can't use it right now.'
The Second Miss struck her own head in frustration. "It's all because I'm so useless."
Gu Fei was in no mood to comfort the Second Miss right now. She closed her eyes, and her consciousness entered her space.
The superpower she'd awakened in her past life was a Space Ability.
The contents of the space were exactly as they had been when she left her previous world.
She had divided the space, which was about the size of two basketball courts, into two zones.
In one corner stood a tent filled with her personal items and daily necessities, including shampoo, body wash, and sanitary pads she had scavenged from a supermarket in her past life.

As her consciousness returned to her body, Gu Fei felt a slight coolness on her back.
She turned her head to see the Second Miss lifting her shirt and gently blowing on her back.
Gu Fei wanted to tell her to stop, that it was useless, but seeing the Second Miss's earnest expression, she held her tongue. 'Just let her do it,' she thought. 'Maybe it will make her feel a little better.'
Between the pain and exhaustion, Gu Fei drifted off into a hazy sleep before she even realized it.
Gu Fei was jolted awake by a commotion just as the sky was beginning to show the first light of dawn.
Several jailers made their way down the row, banging their batons against the wooden bars. "Up! Everyone up! Servants from the Pingyang Marquis Mansion, get to the door! Roll call! You're going to the South Market shortly!"
Gu Fei pushed herself up, accidentally aggravating the wound on her back. She couldn't help but hiss in pain. 'The South Market is where slaves, cattle, and livestock are bought and sold,' she thought. 'Are they planning to sell all of us?'
The Second Miss sat up as well, looking at Gu Fei in terror. "Jiefei, what are we going to do? If you go, what will happen to me?"
Gu Fei looked at the Second Miss with a worried expression. 'She's such a delicate girl. If I'm taken away, I honestly don't know if she'll be able to survive.'
The Second Miss grabbed Jiefei's arm. "Jiefei, don't go. Please stay with me, alright? I'm so scared all by myself."
