"Sally, stop working, you must be exhausted, right?" Ms. Rowe said with a big, cheerful smile.
"Actually, I haven't been doing much at all."
Sarah Sullivan took the towel and wiped her hands.
The Rowe Family was Sarah's neighbors back in Thompson Village.
Their house was right behind William Thompson's place.
There was no woman in the Thompson Family, so over the years, Ms. Rowe had often helped them out—mending clothes, washing things, that sort of stuff.
The two families were very close.
Mr. and Ms. Rowe had only one son, who did well in school and, a few years ago, got into a run-of-the-mill university in Huston.
After graduating, he stayed in Huston and got a job at a local company.
To be closer to their son—and to save up so he could buy an apartment and get married—Mr. and Ms. Rowe moved to the city a few years back and opened this bun shop.
Up early, to bed late, saving every penny they could.
It's tiring, but they have tons of energy for it.
