"What an absurd amount of physical strength..."
Ezra groaned, as lay embedded in the wall of the grocery store. His mouth was numb, he had lost a few teeth, and he was certain his jawbone had fractured as well. He cursed, and pushed himself out of the wall, downing a healing potion as soon as he could.
Surprisingly, Alan hadn't followed him into the store. He hoped he'd do that, he could have trapped him... instead he chose to remain in the air. A good choice, considering the glass scattered all around. Ezra glanced at the flickering lights of the store and noticed a man hiding behind the counter.
'A part timer?'
He was young, maybe a university student who was working part time to cover his fees. He had his hands over his head and crouched under the counter. He and Ezra locked eyes for a second, and he turned away fearfully.
"Please... Please do-don't kill me."
