Although caught off guard, the Aquadite forces fought back, retaliating against the invading warships with a vast and powerful military force that deployed warships. The homoarachnoids had managed to use an initial element of surprise to inflict damage on the outskirts of their star system through their wormhole attacks.
Billions of aquadites perished in the initial wave of attacks. A civilization that had been lulled by an era of peace and stability along with cautious expansion was not on edge. When the war between the homoarachnoids and the dessandrites had begun, the aquadites had initially gotten their guard up in fear of the war spilling over its boundaries whether it liked it or not, but in the ten years since, they had grown accustomed to the war as the new status quo.
