Isiah violently tore his hands from her grip. "I need to see the kid first."
"When you discover what he truly is, you are going to hate him," Ethyl warned softly.
"You had better keep your mouth shut," Isiah growled, turning his dark gaze toward the serpent on the floor. "I don't need to hear another word from you, Eijar. You can finish explaining what she started. If I find out either of you harmed Ciel, I will kill you both."
Eijar averted her gaze briefly, her voice echoing coldly through his mind: "He is not just an ordinary child, Master... and neither is his family. The boy belongs to an entirely different region."
