At that moment, Isiah kept staring directly into Lexie's eyes. Countless calculations were racing through his mind, everything becoming hyper-lucid in his vision.
His eyes flickered down to her mouth from time to time, wondering how she had summoned the courage to pull off such an act. Even when she called it a kiss, he did not view it as one.
"Isiah, how do you feel right now?" she asked with immense hesitation.
"Disgusted," he answered firmly.
He did not say it specifically to hurt her feelings, merely describing his exact physical sensation toward her.
Lexie bowed her head before Isiah, feeling deeply wounded. He always crushed her emotions, and even when she foolishly believed his words could no longer hurt her, his brutal honesty cut to the core.
"But if keeping you beside me is going to keep me human, then I will do it," he added.
