Chapter 234 - The storm

Eijar spent the entire next day teasing Isiah endlessly for walking away from those two women when they were so blatantly attracted to him. Isiah, however, was thoroughly irritated by her persistence.

He needed far more time before he could naturally converse with ordinary people again. He wasn't about to smile and play the charming gentleman as if his dark past had never happened.

He didn't blame anyone for his guarded nature, but he was painfully aware of his own low tolerance for humanity.

Isiah continued his daily exploration, uncovering new sectors of the territory. By the end of the month, he had mapped out nearly every major quarter of the city.

"Master, there are so many beautifully designed manors here, almost like small castles," Eijar noted as they made their way back to the abandoned estate late at night. "Yet I do not see anything resembling a proper royal palace, like the Seventh King's Palace back on Delwias Island."
