The look on Lexie's face was priceless when Isiah uttered those words; she was violently fighting the urge to sprint toward Ciel and yank him out of Isiah's line of sight in a desperate attempt to protect him.
Clearly, Ciel was completely insensitive to the overwhelming dark atmosphere radiating around Isiah, and she was not going to allow the boy to get hurt.
She had made him a promise, and that was definitely a vow she intended to keep, even if it meant jeopardizing her own life in the process.
Ciel offered a faint smile toward Isiah, speaking softly: "I saw you last time."
"What do you mean?" Isiah replied, gently shoving Ciel's arm away.
He was enduring sharp agony from the stab wound, but for some reason, he desperately wanted that physical pain to persist; it served as the single tether capable of distracting his mind from that ravenous urge to feed.
