AUTHOR'S POV
Kristia found her silence hearing those names. She froze mid-motion as she slice some more fruits for Diana. A smile cracks her dull face, but doesn't fully fall. Those names were already ghosts for her, that she never knew she'd be haunted once again in this lifetime. She continued slicing the oranges, faster... and in more precise cuts.
"I wanted to know what happened with the Lockwood Family", Diana implored the house maiden without showing much of her desperation.
"The Lock...", the maid stopped, as she accidentally cut her finger driving the knife down the last slice of orange. She didn't flinched. Her eyes were locked on the blood trickling out of the wound. The pain awakened a part of her that remembered something more painful. "It has been years... that I could hardly remember a thing ", Kristia shook her head, smiling evenly.
"Their son, Scott Devlin. I mean.. Scott Lockwood imprinted on me. And, I just want to know, what happened to his family.. Particularly about a curse. I was told, someone named Kristia lived with the Lockwoods. And, I think... I finally found her", Diana deduced.
The porcelain bowl for the oranges shattered on the floor into pieces as it slip through Kristia's fingers. "Scott... imprinted on you?", Kristia looked at Diana with wide eyes, quavering with her hands clasped together.
Meanwhile
The wolf pack of Black Creek Clan rests just outside the shabby cabin, under a red maple scarlet oak tree looking brilliantly red surrounded by green foliage. They surrounded Roman, who seeks for ways to pierce the heart of his Luna. "I'm sorry.. no no.", Roman shook his head as he practice his words while walking back and forth. "Diana… I like you.. ugh.", he said once again grunting in frustration. "How do I say it?", Roman groaned feeling upset on himself.
"Just go and tell her what's in your dick.. I mean mind, Ro", Gunner sitting on a branch of a tree as he chew a twig in his mouth winked. Roman grinned, as if Gunner could read his mind.
"Why would you say sorry, Alpha? She's your Luna", Flynn, Gunner's brother, said perplexed as he follow Roman with his eyes while the Alpha pace back and forth. Watching Roman traipse to and fro adds more throbs to his already aching head from his deprived sleep.
"I heard she was raised as a human, and I don't think the Luna have an idea how it's like when we imprint. She didn't imprinted back, right?", Matt, the pack's absolute private eye said as he lean back on the tree trunk.
"Then just apologize! Is sorry the hardest word to say? Ugh...", Troy rolled his eyes, sitting shirtless on a rock, getting a nice tan from the sun rays seeping through the swaying leaves.
"It is, for the Alpha", Aaron, the blonde pack member whispered as he laugh lightly, giving Troy a high five.
"Shut up kids, what do you know?", Gunner spit the twig from his mouth down to Troy and Aaron. Disgusted, the two flinched and threw stones at Gunner. "Aww Hey! Quit it", he rolled his tongue, aiming a blow at the two. "Alpha, just do it. The Luna will understand.", Gunner told Roman, as he effortlessly jump down from the tree.
"I don't know, man. She is totally upset. Crying and angry kind of upset.", Roman groaned. "It's my fault, but I just can't help it.. her scent is just so..", Roman lowered her head with his hands in his pocket as he kick a few rocks on the ground.
"HYPNOTIZING! WE KNOW", the pack members replied all together as this was the 12th time Roman said it.. While each member of the pack give their advices on how Roman should express his love to his Luna, they heard something broke inside the hut. Roman hurriedly sprinted towards the home. He pushed the door gently as it makes a narrow opening. There, he sees Diana picking up a few broken pieces of the porcelain bowl on the floor. He wanted to rush in and help Diana, but Roman resisted as he hold himself back. When he was about to leave, he was stunned to hear Kristia spoke of a name he didn't thought she knew.
"Di.. did you say, Scott imprinted on you?", Kristia stammered as she ask Diana.
Seeing how Kristia breaks, Diana realized she got her hunches all true. "Yes, we've been together for quite a while.". She place the broken pieces of the bowl on the table, looking intently at the house maiden.
Kristia gasped, covering her mouth with her fingers. She rushed to Diana, knelt at her feet and snatched the Luna's hands. "For the love of the moon goddess!", she exclaimed, eyes becoming glassy in worry. "Diana!! your life is in great danger with Scott", she warned. Roman stayed by the door, listening closely at every word.
Diana crouched on the floor, and held Kristia's hands, clutching on them tightly. "What happened there, Kristia? What happened with the Lockwoods? How can I help Scott??", she softly uttered one after another as she pin her hopes to Kristia whom she knows holds so many answers to her questions.
Roman's jaw tightens, but does nothing. Every syllable out of Diana's mouth were wrapped around another man thus, his restraint is a sword held by its edge. The desperation in Diana's voice. The name that she always mentions. Fearless when it comes to Scott. It broke him as he stand behind the door.
Kristia closes her eyes, releasing herself from Diana's grasps. She stood and walked away, unwilling to confront the past. "You.. you can't save him.. There's nothing you can do", Kristia turned her down too quickly, as she shake her head, leaning on the table with her hands.
"Please help me..", Diana plead clasped on Kristia's arm, laden with urgency.
"Watch out for the full moon... Wherever you go, wherever you hide, he'll always come for your blood!", Kristia whimpered, burdened with heaving. Roman turned his hands into a fist. It was a certain truth that he saw himself. And as he hear the faltering voice of his house maiden who have always been consistently unruffled no matter what circumstance, what took place in the Lockwoods' home was beyond revolting.
"What...", Diana grip only tightened as she seek for answers. She won't leave until she squeezes out the truth on Kristia. "What did they do to him?".
"Go on maid. You heard the Luna", Roman blurted out, as he finally step inside the cabin. "I would love to hear it myself", he told the living archive of the Lockwoods. Kristia felt a threatening aura coming from the Alpha. It was subtle, but frighteningly ominous to put her back right where she's supposed to be. The obedient house maiden. She feels the heavy footsteps coming closer. Pressuring her to leak the untold secret of the Lockwoods. Roman stopped right behind Kristia, laid his rough hand on her shoulder and squeezed it right enough to make her tremble. "Tell her", his tone sharpened.
Starting to crack, Kristia's shoulders drop as she shift to a more recognizable person Roman have always known. She smiled, wiping her tears as she sniffle. "I hope you can both handle this".
