Was he really going to spend the night under the same roof as the Princess?
Definitely not.
If Ren didn't have Evie waiting for him, perhaps the situation would have been different. Maybe he would have considered it. Elena was beautiful, after all, and he was still a man.
But he had Evie.
More importantly, he loved her.
Their relationship meant more to him than a momentary temptation, and his responsibilities as her partner were not something he would casually throw away. Even if this world was technically fictional, the feelings he had for her were real.
There were some lines Ren simply refused to cross.
"What's wrong?"
Elena's voice pulled him from his thoughts.
Ren realized he had gone quiet.
"Nothing."
The answer came far too quickly.
Elena narrowed her eyes.
Ren cleared his throat. "Let's go and clear this quest." So we don't have to spend the night here.
He almost said the last part aloud.
Fortunately, he stopped himself.
