Yesterday night, when she was having dinner with her daughters, her husband came into the room. She had become numb and no longer feared the verbal abuse or beatings but she didn't want it to happen before her daughters. Moreover, she didn't want them to sleep hungry.
However, to her utter surprise, even though he was clearly drunk, he didn't abuse her let alone beat her. Instead, he looked at the dinner and frowned, 'Why aren't you eating something healthier?'
She couldn't believe her ears. Did he just show her care? How was this possible?
After her daughters went to sleep, she waited for him to lash out at her but he didn't and just slept.
Then this morning, suddenly she was summoned along with her daughters by the Matriarch.
Confused, she went and became shocked when the Matriarch didn't show her her usual indifference and instead treated her warmly. She even played with her daughters, then in front of everyone, scolded her beloved son for neglecting her.
