Valeridge Residence
Sydney Sawyer put on a movie and lowered her head to text Sebastian Lockwood, asking if he was off work. Instead, she received a call from him. "Are you there by yourself?"
"How did you know?"
"My sister called me. She was worried about you being home alone. I'll be there in about half an hour to take you out for dinner."
After hanging up, Sydney Sawyer quickly changed her clothes, tidied up a bit, and hurried downstairs.
It wasn't until she was settled in the passenger seat of his car with her seatbelt fastened that she turned her head to ask, "Where are we going for dinner?"
A breeze drifted in through the half-open window, gently lifting the fine baby hairs on her skin. Sebastian Lockwood tilted his head and studied her. "We haven't seen each other in so long, and the first thing you say to me is, 'Where are we going for dinner?'"
Sydney Sawyer pressed her lips together. 'Didn't we just see each other the day before yesterday?'
