Ryder Sharp looked down at her. "Staying the night... that wasn't his idea. It was all mine."
His gaze was searing, his breathing eager.
As he spoke, the corner of his lips brushed against hers, as if about to strike a spark from the air itself.
"Vivi—" As Ryder Sharp spoke, his breath ghosted across her lips.
His voice was a low, seductive murmur.
Just then, the elevator reached their floor. Ryder Sharp straightened up and was about to take her hand to lead her out when Sylvie Lockwood stopped him. "Let's go down to the lobby. I'll get you a new room."
Ryder Sharp glanced at her but didn't say anything more, simply following her to the lobby on the first floor.
Sylvie Lockwood thought to herself, 'He's being surprisingly agreeable!'
When she reached the lobby and asked if there were any vacant rooms, a staff member smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, but our hotel is fully booked for today."
"Fully booked?" Sylvie Lockwood frowned.
