Old Mrs. Huxley held the jade bracelet, overjoyed.
She declared that it was a keepsake her daughter had left her.
"If we really hadn't found it, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to eat or sleep."
"Thankfully, we found it. Perhaps her spirit in heaven was watching over us." Old Mrs. Huxley's eyes reddened. She looked genuinely emotional as she turned to Sylvie Lockwood. "Good child, tell me, where did you find it?"
"Was it in the room where my daughter's personal effects are stored?"
"No." Sylvie Lockwood shook her head.
If not, that meant someone must have taken it away.
Ronald Sharp chuckled. "You don't mean to say we really have a thief in the house?"
Jane Spencer glanced nervously at Sydney Sawyer.
Of course, she didn't believe her daughter would steal anything, but the Huxleys had come prepared, which made her anxious.
"Then where was it found?" Old Mrs. Huxley clutched the bracelet, looking at her excitedly.
