「Meanwhile」
When Sydney Sawyer and Lauren Brooks followed Ryder Sharp to the club, the elevator doors slid open. He immediately strode out and headed inside. Sylvie Lockwood was already sparring with someone.
"Why didn't you stop her?" Ryder Sharp frowned, looking at the manager.
"Couldn't stop her," the manager said helplessly.
"Then what's the point of you!"
"I am useless. Why don't you go stop her yourself, Sharp?"
Ryder Sharp's already frosty expression turned even colder.
The manager was in his forties, over a decade older than him, and a former professional boxer. He had a rigid personality and didn't mince words, even with Ryder, his boss.
"Every time Miss Lockwood gets into trouble, don't you just let her do what she wants and clean up her mess? You can't even handle her yourself, and you expect me to?"
The manager snorted, his expression clearly saying:
'If you're so capable, you go do it!'
