Ryder Sharp was unaware of Sebastian Lockwood and Sydney Sawyer's relationship. When he saw that Sebastian had noticed his bad mood and had even come over specifically to check on him, he felt a pang of guilt and invited him into his room to talk.
"I didn't expect you to still have this on display." Sebastian Lockwood reached out and picked up a model from the display case. "Do you still remember this?"
"I remember." Ryder Sharp's eyes were hazy, but his mind was clear. "We fought over it for a long time."
A toy model. When they were young, all boys liked these things.
Someone else had given them as a gift—two different models, but both boys had set their sights on the same one.
To decide who the model belonged to, the two of them fought tooth and nail. Thinking back on it now, it just seemed childish.
"I'm surprised you kept it in such good condition." Sebastian Lockwood picked up the model and fiddled with it; its mechanical parts could still be moved.
