From Sylvie Lockwood's point of view, his back looked tall and broad, yet somehow unfamiliar. Sydney Sawyer, standing right beside them, watched as her brother led Miss Lockwood into the house, completely ignoring her.
She furrowed her brow slightly.

The neighbors around them were also discussing it:
"Sharp and Vivi are so close. He really saved her just in the nick of time."
"They grew up together. Back when Sharp's mother was passing, I visited the hospital a few times. Vivi was almost always there with him. Of course they'd be close! They're like real siblings."
"I'd say they're even closer than real siblings."
"That young man from before seemed like a good catch, and he was quite sincere. I can't believe Vivi wasn't interested."
"I guess it just wasn't meant to be."
