He was sitting with his body twisted away from her, which fueled her annoyance.
It was clear that he couldn't wait to leave. It wasn't just his voice that was cold but his body demeanor as well. And he's not hiding it from her. He was silently screaming it to her face which pissed her off to thinking murder over chicken salad.
They were dropping her like a hot potato, calling her out in the middle of the day just to inform her she no longer works for them.
She had no idea who was 'them' because since the beginning she had no idea who she was working for. It was understandable for them to be in a business which is against the law.
