Randu stood tall at the edge of the cliff.
His white vest was threadbare, fluttering in the fierce wind. His lopsided black udeng left a few strands of his bangs swaying in the breeze.
Before him, a colossal landslide surged down the slopes of the Lumut Mountains. Its deafening roar echoed through the air. Earth, rocks, and trees merged into a single deadly wave that, within seconds, would strike Kawi Village.
Randu tightly gripped the Cakra Dwimandala.
His hand trembled slightly. He swallowed hard, then began spinning the two iron spheres with his other hand.
At first, a faint sound of scraping metal could be heard. Then, it grew faster.
Whooosh... Whooosh... Whoooosshh...
The two spheres spun faster and faster. The surrounding air began to move in rhythm with their motion. Small specks of dust lifted from the ground, leaves swirled around, while the wind—which had been blowing erratically—gradually aligned with the spinning direction of the Cakra Dwimandala.
He raised the relic straight forward. Armed only with very limited knowledge, Randu attempted to use it according to what little understanding he possessed.
The landslide arrived.
Randu was pushed backward by the tremendous force of the landslide rushing down under gravity as the power of the Cakra Dwimandala activated. He quickly braced the hand clutching the relic's handle with his other hand, striving to withstand the relentless pressure pushing against him as the wave of earth drew near.
With all his strength, he pushed the Cakra Dwimandala forward. The two iron spheres spun even faster, as if responding to the mounting pressure.
In an instant, invisible ripples emanated from the spinning iron spheres. Randu's body shifted backward again due to the reaction of the forming force field, this time with a much stronger jolt.
"Argghh...!"
The air in front of him vibrated violently. Instantly, the emitted power transformed into a translucent wall spanning across the cliff.
BOOOOMMM...!!
The landslide slammed into the barrier. The entire slope trembled. The wave of earth, which had been sliding straight down, suddenly lost its direction. Guided now by the control of the Cakra Dwimandala, Randu moved both his hands to the left and right.
Like dust swept away by windmill blades, the rushing flow of earth parted, surging wildly to the right and left sides of the cliff, bypassing Kawi Village without touching a single house.
Randu remained standing. Both of his hands still tightly gripped the Cakra Dwimandala, which continued to spin.
However...
Suddenly, the sky changed. He looked straight up toward the heavens. A yellowish-white light pierced through the clouds, soaring straight from the earth up into the sky.
Sakadian.
The pillar of light stood majestically, visible from every corner of the Lumut Mountains and its surroundings. Randu stared at it in silence. His face showed no surprise.
Behind him, Kawi Village still stood. And for Randu... that was more than enough.
