What are 'Strings of Destiny'?
They are an amalgamation of a person's future, their ambitions, their goals, and their link to the 'world' itself!
They are almost equivalent to a person's life as they represent a person's very existence!
If that is true, then a change in the strings of destiny means a 'change' in the person that was connected to them.
The 'change' could be mental, soul-related, and even physical!
If you can interfere with a person's body or soul through the strings of destiny, that means you can 'create' a 'weakness' in the target's body, mind, or soul at your own desire!
You can make them vulnerable to physical, mental, or soul-related attacks in such ways that it would be easy for you to target them, as there would be easy-to-notice weaknesses.
