Miss Si had just hung up the phone shortly before Jiang Chengsi returned, having only bought some simple ingredients. The main dish was noodles, for convenience.
"Do you need any help?" She got up, ready to follow him to the kitchen.
"Your hand is injured, better take a rest. I can handle it myself. You go watch some TV," Jiang Chengsi said as he closed the kitchen door.
When she was designing at the time, she thought that no matter how effective the kitchen range hood was, it couldn't entirely prevent the smell of smoke from wafting into the living room, especially in the winter when the heating was on and the whole house was closed up. That's why she didn't design an open-plan kitchen.
Unexpectedly, this door didn't block the smoke...
But it did manage to keep her, the owner, outside.
She sat in the living room, watched TV for a while, and then heard clattering noises coming from the kitchen.
