Chapter 417 - Chapter 426 The Last Wizard of the Century part 9

After leaving Seiran Hoshi, Aizen thought for a moment and went to an internet cafe.

In the internet cafe, Aizen began to locate Kosaka Natsumi. He knew that Kosaka Natsumi would appear today without fail, but he wanted to confirm her location.

"She's still on the train to Osaka."

Aizen quickly confirmed Kosaka Natsumi's location. After confirming she was on the train, he abandoned the idea of going to find her.

Leaving the internet cafe, he checked the time and found it was almost four o'clock. Aizen didn't go anywhere else but went to the vicinity of his mirror image clone, looking for an opportunity to swap places with it.

Sonoko Suzuki, Ran Mouri, and Kazuha Toyama bought quite a few things while shopping, with Aizen carrying a lot of them. The three girls looked very excited and clearly hadn't finished shopping yet. As for Heiji Hattori, he had already left with Conan, saying they were going to have fun on their own.

At six o'clock, Aizen called Heiji Hattori, asking him and Conan to come over for dinner. Heiji and Conan were still outside, so they didn't refuse and went to join the four of them.

While waiting for the food to be served, Hattori Heiji asked, "Hey Aizen, have you deciphered the code in Kaito Kid's announcement letter yet?"

Aizen shook his head, "I've been shopping with Sonoko and the others all afternoon, I haven't had time to think about that. I haven't figured it out yet, have you?"

Hattori Heiji shook his head, "Conan and I have been thinking about it for a long time and haven't figured it out."

Suzuki Sonoko looked at Conan and said, "What could that brat Conan know? It's a miracle he could decipher the code in Kaito Kid's announcement letter."

"That woman!"

Conan rolled his eyes. He was helping her, you know, even though he knew Suzuki Sonoko didn't care if the Egg of Memories was stolen.

Mouri Ran said, "Conan is amazing. My dad often solved cases with Conan's help and reminders."

"Really?"

Toyama Kazuha looked at Conan in surprise, this was the first time she had heard this.

"No, I just learned it from Shinichi-nii,"

Conan said modestly, subtly praising himself as Shinichi Kudo.

Sonoko Suzuki glanced at Aizen and Ran Mouri, then said, "Don't even mention that kid Kudo; he only has cases on his mind and doesn't care about Ran's feelings at all."

"Shinichi!"

Ran Mouri lowered her head slightly. How long had it been since she heard that name? How long had it been since she thought of him? How long had it been since they last contacted each other? Although she hadn't forgotten him, and they occasionally kept in touch, she felt the distance between them was growing.

Kazuha Toyama glanced at Aizen, then at Ran Mouri, but said nothing. She knew Shinichi liked Ran, and Ran liked Shinichi; it was just that Shinichi Kudo stood between them. Compared to the unknown Shinichi Kudo, she actually hoped Aizen and Ran Mouri could be together, because they were both her good friends, and her allegiance was obvious.

"Ran!"

Conan saw Ran's low spirits and felt terrible. He wanted to turn back into Shinichi Kudo and appear by Ran's side, but he couldn't. He felt guilty and pained.

"Alright, the food is here. Let's eat!"

Aizen said.

Ran composed herself and smiled slightly at everyone.

After dinner, Sonoko Suzuki said, "Kazuha, Ran and I are in your care. Where are the most lively places in Osaka at night?"

Heiji Hattori spoke first, "Well, Conan and I won't go. We'll go back on our own later."

"What about you, Shinichi?"

Sonoko Suzuki looked at Aizen. She didn't care whether Heiji Hattori and Conan went or not.

Aizen said, "I can't go shopping with you guys tonight. I need to think carefully about the coded message in Kaito Kid's announcement. We can't let him steal the Egg of Memories."

Suzuki Sonoko nodded and said, "Alright then, I'll go shopping in Osaka with Ran and Kazuha tonight."

The group parted ways. Aizen, Hattori Heiji, and Conan left, while Suzuki Sonoko, Mouri Ran, and Toyama Kazuha left. After walking for a while, Aizen turned to the two and asked, "Do you have any plans for where you're going next?"

Hattori Heiji shook his head and said, "We haven't decided yet. Maybe we'll go check out the castle tower later."

Aizen nodded and said, "Although the possibility of Kaito Kid appearing at the castle tower isn't that high, it's not insignificant. It's good for you to go check it out, but I won't go. I'm going to check out the art museum area; maybe there's something there."

"If you think of anything, call me." Hattori Heiji nodded and made a phone call gesture. "Okay, I'll be going then!" Aizen nodded, then waved goodbye to the two, walked to the roadside, hailed a taxi, and left. Hattori Heiji and Conan walked along the street after seeing Aizen leave.

The taxi stopped outside the art museum, and Aizen checked his watch, realizing it was already around seven o'clock.

Although Chaki Shintaro believed that Kaito Kid would appear at the castle tower, the art museum was still heavily guarded by riot police. Aizen entered the art museum and went to the upstairs office area, only to find it empty.

He immediately understood; Suzuki Tomoko and Suzuki Ayako had probably gone to have dinner, and after dinner, they might stay at the hotel and not return here. If he hadn't known that Kosaka Natsumi would be here, and considering that Suzuki Tomoko and Suzuki Ayako weren't planning to come, Aizen would have already left.
