Victor Morgan froze for a few seconds, still not letting go of Vera Warner. Panicked, Vera shoved him away and hastily straightened her clothes.
Sylvia Schuyler had known Victor Morgan for nearly ten years. Even when they were together, Victor had never done anything out of line. He had always been a perfect gentleman in front of her.
'But why is he so different with Vera Warner? And that smile on his face when I opened the door... it was completely unfamiliar.'
Sylvia couldn't bear the scene. She turned and ran. After a few seconds' hesitation, Victor quickly chased after her.
Vera, on the other hand, tidied up the area as if nothing had happened and went back to her work. Perhaps she had already grown used to Victor's occasional bouts of madness.
But lately, the man was getting bolder. Scolding didn't work, and she couldn't win a fight against him. 'I can't let him keep going on like this. I have to think of some way to manage him.'
