If he got a reputation for being a bad kid, his mother would surely stop loving him. That's why Zola Morgan had been enduring it.
But in his heart, he was screaming for someone to come and save him. He desperately wanted to leave, to go back to his mother's side.
"That's a good boy. From now on, you listen to me. Don't just call anyone 'Mom.' You have no manners at all. Understand?"
Zola Morgan didn't respond. Luna Warner squeezed the hand she was holding, hard. The pain made Zola Morgan's brow furrow, and he quickly nodded. "I understand."
Luna Warner threatened him again. "And? What else are you supposed to do?"
"I'll listen to Mom!" Zola Morgan knew that if he didn't obey her, she might very well crush his hand.
But Zola Morgan wanted nothing to do with this woman, yet she dragged him upstairs by force.
"Now *that's* more like Luna Warner's son. You're in my hands now, so you have to listen to me. Otherwise, I'll make you regret it."
