He was someone else's child, after all. 'If something went wrong, the first thing to do is obviously contact Victor Morgan.'
Now, hearing Victor Morgan's response, Vera's heart twisted into a knot. She couldn't hide it and told him the truth, "I woke up this morning and Zola was gone."
Victor Morgan's voice boomed, "What do you mean, gone?"
Vera took a breath. 'It really is hard taking care of someone else's child,' she thought grimly, then said, "I talked to Zola for a bit last night. I told him he was going back with you today and that Chloe and I were returning to our home country. He seemed to have taken it badly."
Vera felt like a criminal, not even daring to speak loudly in front of Victor Morgan.
Before, she could speak to him with conviction, but now she found herself being cautious.
Victor Morgan exploded with rage. "Even if you rejected me, you can't just be in such a hurry to kick the child out! You know how much he cares about you. How could you be so heartless?"
