Chapter 115 - Ch 111; Is that a bird?

*Anos's POV*

It was a peaceful Sunday night as Anos looked out from the window of his room. The walls of his room were polished black stone and the window had the thinnest glass that he had ever seen but it didn't bother with the heating of the room and only creaked modestly when opened so he didn't care much.

The scenery of the view was entirely too enticing as it showed the sprawl of forest laid around the castle as far as the eye could see and at night the Forbidden forest was usually alive with a different sort of life as the trees swayed silently, some shedding the miniscule amount of snow that remained by dropping it on the forest floor,

Then again Anos himself was entirely too used to watching the moon and the stars but since the moon was behind clouds currently while he was taking a break from popping his eyes in front of books he had to settle for watching the sprawl and quiet splendor of the Forbidden forest instead.

'Somewhere in that forest is a nest of behemoth sized spiders. Gods couldn't Hagrid have taken a parrot as a pet instead of a fucking baby Shelob.' Anos cursed, not being entirely too comfortable with monstrous spiders living that close to him.

Oh he wasn't unfamiliar with spiders but that didn't mean he had gotten used to them and while a stray bug wasn't entirely something he would crittering around in the forest, even though if he could then he would spray insecticide all over the forest afterwards but that would fuck up the Pollination cycle and that was all very confusing, but spiders as big as hounds with a mother the size of a small house was an entirely different matter.

"Maybe I can get them to move away farther into the forest?" He mused but then stopped that thought.

The Forbidden forest was inhabited by Centaurs, Trolls, WoodBears and many other creatures; he could guess that moving the giant colony of spiders inward deeper into it wouldn't be entirely too amicable to the other inhabitants and a war between the creatures living in Hogwarts' backyard was something he didn't want to be the one instigating.

So instead he sat and mused about all the kinds of creatures currently walking in the forest and how many of them he would be able to talk to well.

'I bet at least a tenth of everything in that forest that has a language at least. But then again I can always understand some of the baser words for all the creatures.' he considered, passing his fingers over the fat belly of his squirrel whom he had named 'Squire' after much thought.

Squire the squirrel was as loyal as squirrels came or well as loyal as Hazesquirrels could be which meant that he would chitter excitedly when offered Almonds but be too lazy to stay awake for long hours.

Anos certainly didn't seem to mind it as the wolves were all too curious and now even fond of the squirrel despite their earlier misgivings about him when Squire had chosen to bite down on Sif's paw.

Anos chuckled at the memory and sat emptily on his chair watching the forest, it was half past midnight and he would return to his work soon enough but instead of language tomes that made his head hurt it would be Magical Theory homework which was, in his sincere opinion, a lot less unpleasant despite Harriet who might have argued on the contrary.

Anos felt the cool air brush gently against his skin and rustling his light hair, which had grown to the nape of his neck in length.

'Maybe I'll get a haircut after school ends this year.' He swiped a loose strand of hair away from his blindfold covered eyes.

Hogwarts unfortunately didn't have a resident barber, unfortunately alongside their Stationary services for emergency parchment and ink.

Well not that he was really minding the long hair, he was supposed to grow it out after he grew up anyway like Dad and uncle Lucius.

So it was with these thoughts of lengthy hair that Anos heard the faint sound of creaking, which persisted for a long moment before abruptly stopping.

'Huh? Is anyone else awake currently?' he considered, quickly thinking of Alucard but brushing that thought away.

Alucard was in self imposed exile apparently. Living in his room for everything except the necessity to bathe and brush every day alongside eating and classes as he had told Lan while Anos had overheard while walking back from the library.

But no, nothing could make that horrible creaking noise except….

Anos stood up from the chair and ignored the angry mutters of indignation coming from Squire who was unsettled by the interruption to its nap.

Instead he focused on remembering where the sound had come from and then slowly walked up to the window and looked out.

The moon still wasn't out and the stars weren't a big help in terms of lighting as he looked from left to right, leaning his head out of the window.

"Is that a bird?" He muttered looking at a rapidly fading shape but couldn't make out what it exactly was.

But as he shrugged and decided to go back into the room for his work he noticed two figures silently moving at the edge of the Forbidden forest, just a few steps away from the treeline.

His eyes had adjusted to the darkness but even before that he knew it was two wizards, so he only had to remove the blindfold from his right eye for a brief moment to confirm that one of them was wearing a turban.

And the other one was his Dad.
