Chapter 551 - Ch 171 - Capricious Creatures

Jun Mo Xie released her hand and stepped back, rubbing his forehead with a helpless sigh. "Ye Guhan had been healed even before your arrival."

The room fell silent.

Sun Xiao Mei and Dugu Xiao Yi turned toward each other at the same moment, their eyes wide with disbelief. The shock was so clear that they didn't even bother to hide it.

Princess Ling Meng stared blankly, unable to process his words. Her lips trembled before her frustration exploded.

"Just what do you want from me, Jun Mo Xie?!" She cried out, her voice hoarse with emotion. "Do you really have to torture me like this? If you want to hurt me, then hit me, and I won't retaliate. Why do you have to go to such lengths like that?!"

Her voice cracked at the end. She didn't believe him, and how could she?

Fang Hui Sheng had declared Uncle Ye unsavable. So, when exactly had Jun Mo Xie 'healed' him? It sounded like a cruel joke.

Jun Mo Xie looked at her quietly, his face unreadable before he spoke. "Are you even worthy enough of my hatred?"

The words were soft, but they struck like thunder.

Princess Ling Meng froze. Even Sun Xiao Mei and Dugu Xiao Yi felt the sting of that line.

It wasn't contempt but a total dismissal.

He didn't even consider her significant enough to hate.

Without waiting for a reaction, Jun Mo Xie turned toward the bed. He placed his palm on Ye Guhan's chest and released his aura.

A soft hum filled the room.

Then a light burst from Ye Guhan's body, forcing the girls to raise their hands to their eyes.

When the light faded, the room trembled in shock.

Ye Guhan's wounds were gone. Even the missing arm materialized out of thin air, formed perfectly as if it had never been severed.

The three girls reacted in the same way at the same time.

Their eyes widened, and their jaws dropped as their bodies jumped slightly as if struck by lightning.

Sun Xiao Mei clamped a hand over her mouth, and Dugu Xiao Yi nearly screamed.

Princess Ling Meng felt her vision blur from the overwhelming disbelief tearing through her. She stepped forward in a trance, her fingers trembling. Slowly, she touched the arm that had once been missing.

It was real.

"Xiao Yi!" Jun Mo Xie called.

"What?" Dugu Xiao Yi perked up instantly. Her voice was bright now, filled with relief, excitement, and a strange admiration that were all mixed inside it.

"Go to Third Uncle and ask him to send someone to the Aristocratic Hall. Ask him to bring back these medical ingredients." Jun Mo Xie listed the herbs smoothly, without hesitation. "The earlier I have them, the more useful they will be."

Dugu Xiao Yi nodded fiercely and dashed out of the room like a streak of light.

Even though Ye Guhan's life had been saved, his complete recovery still needed many things.

Princess Ling Meng moved closer to Jun Mo Xie without realizing it.

She had never been so near to him before, never close enough to see his expression from this angle. He sat quietly, eyes closed, dispelling the array he had placed earlier. His face looked neither arrogant nor greedy. Instead, there was a calm, distant aura around him.

A kind of cold majesty, as if he stood alone above all creation.

Her heart trembled.

That faint sensation she had felt earlier in desperation now returned, and her breath caught.

She sat down beside him without making a sound, her mind spinning uncontrollably.

Sun Xiao Mei quietly sat next to her, giving her silent company.

"Sister Xiao Mei… why are you at the Jun Family's residence?" Princess Ling Meng finally asked.

"Little White led Jun Mo Xie and Jun Wu Yi to us after you were captured…" Sun Xiao Mei replied softly. "The Third Master brought Uncle Ye here, and Jun Mo Xie set out to search for you…"

"What?" Princess Ling Meng's voice jumped an octave. "Jun Mo Xie went alone to look for me?"

Her face changed instantly. A puzzle she had been struggling with snapped into clarity.

The mysterious figure who carried her while escaping the cave… The expert who protected her with throwing knives… That familiar warmth she had felt in those arms…

It all felt exactly like the strange feeling spreading through her chest, now sitting so close to Jun Mo Xie.

Her heart began to pound.

She looked at Jun Mo Xie again, her eyes wide, her expression filled with disbelief, and something else she didn't even try to name.

Women were truly capricious creatures, and their hearts turned faster than the leaves in the wind.

And at this moment, Ling Meng's heart was spinning uncontrollably.

Dugu Xiao Yi returned to the courtyard almost dancing, her steps light as though she were stepping on clouds. Her earlier worries had melted away, and the little girl's smile was so bright it could make flowers open.

Princess Ling Meng watched her approach. She tried her best to stay calm, but her fingers tightened around the sleeve of her dress, and her heartbeat grew louder.

"Little sister Xiao Yi," She said, steadying her voice until it sounded almost too calm. "I heard that Young Master Jun crafted a jewel-studded knife for you. I remember it had a lovely name… 'The Jewel of the Blue Moon,' wasn't it? Could you show it to me again?"

Xiao Yi puffed her cheeks like she had been unfairly accused. "You treated it with disdain the last time I tried to show it to you. But now you want to see it again? Hmph… fine, I'll show it to you," she muttered.

She reached into her sleeve and carefully pulled out a slender knife. Its surface sparkled as if it held moonlight inside it.

Jun Mo Xie, who had been watching from the side, almost choked on his breath.

"Dugu Xiao Yi!" He shouted, his eyes widening. "I gave you that knife so you could cut people apart... not wear it like an armband! What a waste! This little girl… what's the difference between that and jewelry?!"

Xiao Yi's face instantly turned pink. She stomped her foot, flustered.

"This… you gave it to me… as a token of faith…" She whispered shyly. "I'll use it if I need to… why are you getting mad at me…?"

Her head lowered, her fingers nervously rubbing the hem of her gown. She looked as if she wanted to hide inside her sleeves. In a voice so soft it almost disappeared, she asked, "My… Jade Pendant… you still wear it?"

Princess Ling Meng didn't hear her, as her entire focus was on the knife. Her hands trembled as she took in every detail of the blade, and her breath hitched.

'This craftsmanship… This aura… This was definitely made by the same person who saved my life.'

A wave of jealousy hit her so hard she felt it in her chest. 'Why did she get something so beautiful? Why from him?'

"It's a good blade," Princess Ling Meng finally said, though her voice carried a reluctant envy she could not hide. Her eyes remained glued to it, as though the knife might vanish if she blinked.

Her gaze slowly lifted to Jun Mo Xie, and there was a strange new shine in her eyes, one he had never seen directed at him before
