Everyone was alerted when they heard Niles say that there were incoming hostiles approaching which everyone became battle ready looking toward the expanse of tree keeping their backs against the wagon in case of any ambush.
The sounds of howling became more clear as the beasts approached but heavy stomps were also included which resonated with the beats of our hearts feeling more anxious.
What came out first were two serrated Blood Wolves this frightened Niles as these Beasts were something he had history with and not the good KInd as these beasts tactics depended on taking opponents down in a war of attrition with their hematoxin in addition to their jagged fangs , It was as if they were made to Bleed you dry in a literal sense.
They immediately looked like they were gonna flee but with us blocking their route although unintentionally they saw us as enemies and were try to quickly engage but before this happened the third beast appeared which was another serrated Blood Wolf as it was just about to jump out from we heard the large thumping and groaning sound which alerted the other two serrated Blood Wolves that had arrived earlier.
It could be seen the third one on got half way through the bush before something looked like it grabbed its backend or maybe tail which caused the wolf to immediately use its claws to dig into the ground trying to gain traction to claw its way out as everyone in our group including the two other serrated Blood Wolves could be seen getting tense.
The third serrated Blood Wolf disappeared as it was dragged only hearing a whimpering sound as if a puppy begging for help from its mother or dog in dire need for help begging for mercy . hoping for some reprieve.
Then everyone heard slamming some kind of large object on the trees as it could be seen that the leaves were all falling down rapidly and the whimpering sound still continued with everyone tensing from this brutal slamming which were followed by whimpers.
Buren then said " We should retreat and not take the supplies with us, and regroup and collect the supplies or what's left when the beasts leave." Everyone nodded including Niles especially since the two serrated blood wolves were occupied by the sound facing away from us.
Our group was slowly backing away trying not to be noticed but it was when we were close to leaving this site.
It was then when it stopped the sound was completely that the temperature just dropped and the bushes at the same location where the other blood wolf disappeared started rustling and what was seen was an ape or gorilla mix of some kind of animal.
It first put one knuckle forward using it walking similar to how gorillas would do on earth and it grunted looking at us with utmost curiosity.
It had brown eyes, and its skin that wasn't covered by hair looked cracked as if someone had parched this beast its fur a mixture of brown and ash white and lower jaw teeth the canines pointed towards the sky protruding from its mouth and it was tall enough that it looked like it was the 2.5 metres tall and carried the presence of some wild beast.
It while looking at us still hadn't shown its full body as one of its hands was behind it as if it was dragging something behind.
The gorilla-like beast then finally came out fully and the arm that was hidden till now held the serrated blood wolf that was seen dragged away earlier except now its body laid limp and blood could be seen streaming out of its wounds , even one of its legs looked like a mangled mess.
The Beast then grunted again and Everyone could swear that it smirked a bit making a ooh, ooh sound then it threw the mangled corpse to the two serrated blood wolves and showed a toothy grin.
The wolves weren't happy with this provocation of their assailant and immediately were going to retaliate which was going to give us time to retreat as after seeing that corpse no one wanted to take the chance to challenge the beast.
The wolves growled and then they release some red aura and they grew a bit and eyes turned blood red and growled at the Gorilla like beast, which the gorilla like beast still smirking looked at them then pumped its chest out and beat them as if they were drums and slammed its hands to the ground stirring up dust.
The two serrated blood wolves which still did not back down after the Gorilla beast didn't show any fear separated and were trying to do a pincer maneuver, one aiming at the front one at the back.
The gorilla beast was still focused towards the one at the front which it then took a quick glance at the one behind it.
The serrated blood wolf in the front then lunged forward and the gorilla beast swung its massive arm towards the wolf but was dodged by it which the wolf then aimed for the underside of the gorilla beast's arm.
This all happened because our group was still in a retreat but we were happy especially Niles as he Knew that one bitten or cut by their claws you're in trouble if you wait it out too as you'll bleed to death sooner or later.
The wolf then clamped down on the gorilla beast's arm and then the other serrated blood wolf instantaneously aimed for its leg stealthy but adeptly to injure the beast.
The gorilla beast reacted instantly and you could see a faint brown shimmer on its arm which surprised me as I keenly watched then saw the serrated blood wolf that aimed for it whimpered and immediately launched itself back with one of its elongated serrated fang broken off in the gorilla beasts arm.
Niles then thought 'Its not a regular beast its a magic beast' as NIles noticed that faint shimmer meaning it used one of its abilities most likely an hardening skill.
Niles knew this because those fangs he had an up close encounter with and knew they were durable and very sharp.
The gorilla beast then took the tooth lodged in its arm and pulled it out and it showed that blood was drawn from the puncture although not deep.
The gorilla magic beast then threw it in front of the wolf who lost its fang and banged its chests again but that was until it screamed in pain as it looked down towards its leg which was now bitten by the other wolf in the brawl which the beast seemed to have forgotten.
The gorilla magic beast swatted at the wolf but was too late as the serrated blood wolf let go of its legs leaping backward staying low to the ground ready to pounce or dodge if need be.
The beast was confused though it had reinforced its legs as it was its only vulnerable spot at the back as its back was covered in rocky fur.
It then looked towards the wolf and screamed at it and Niles who was still paying attention to the fight knew what the wolf did. More likely it reinforced its teeth with mana which were already tough already when it noticed what happened to its companion before it.
This felt like some sort of mockery to the beast when it saw its leg injured and was about to rush to beat its assailant to a bloody pulp but then the wolf with the broken fang howled at the gorilla magic beast in its mad rush.
It quickly ran up and leapt in the air and swiped its claws at the beast's head while the other one was making its retreat.
The gorilla beast dodged this attempt by counter attacking using its skill on its arm and doing a wide swing which crashed into the serrated blood wolf in the air launching it into the ground which it then started rolling and stabilized itself.
The other serrated blood wolf was already far away from the gorilla magic beast's attack range which annoyed the beast as it was the one that was supposed to humiliate and make the wolves suffer.
But now it had been on the receiving end which showed an annoyed scowl on its face wanting to end these little beasts as soon as possible.
It then started to glow an earthy brown and ashen white glow and jumped in the air far in the sky above the tree tops although not too far to to the injury on its leg. It could even see the direction the other little beasts went in the air but wanted to deal with the two down below.
Then it turned its back facing downward and accelerated down like a meteorite and what happened next was jaw dropping.
Niles and his group were already making headway as they turned around a few times when the gorilla beast screamed loudly and when they turned around they saw it in the air looking at them with an angry expression.
